I was given this iDuck Speaker as a gift for my birthday last year, it is however available to by from many online stores such as Amazon which are selling the iDuck Speaker for £14.99.
Play.com are also selling this for 17.99, and Prezzybox.com have it for sale at £21.95. Amazon seems have the best price, however it is also worth looking on eBay and other auction sites as you may be able to find it cheaper.

I have always loved the idea of having my favourite songs being played in the bathroom while I'm in the shower or relaxing in the bath, and until last year I thought it was almost impossible to find water proof wireless speakers that were reasonably priced. Therefore when I received this a gift I was really surprised to hear from my friend that it wasn't that expensive and actually quite affordable. I was very happy when I received this gift as it meant I could finally sing along to my favourite songs while having a shower or taking a nice warm bath and my partner would be thankful that the music would drown out my singing voice!
The Speaker itself is very cute to look at and is shaped in the design of little yellow duck which has an orange beak and white cartoon eyes and is made from plastic material, it looks a lot like a rubber duck but instead is made from plastic and plays music!. It measures approx 12 cm in height, 10.5 cm wide and 10 cm in depth. The duck doesn't need any wires to attach to it and instead functions wirelessly. The duck comes with a plastic egg shaped transmitter which has one lead that connects to your iphone, ipod or any mp3 device via the headphone socket.
The duck requires triple A batteries to operate which thankfully came with my gift so I could use these almost straight away. The battery compartment is easy to find and open and simply needs unscrewing. Once the batteries are inserted and the transmitter is connected to an mp3 device and switched on it is then ready to start playing music. It is a very clever little device, and the duck basically acts as the speaker and plays music transmitted wireless via the Egg which gathers the music from the connected device.
The duck is fully water proof so I tend to have it floating next to me while I'm taking a bath or next to the bath while having a shower. The fact that is nice and small in size is great, as it doesn't take up much room in our bath, and our bath is quite small as it is therefore it would be a bit of a pain if a large speaker kept getting in the way while bathing. I was a little worried about using the duck in the bath at first, but I have used it a number of times and I have never experienced it stop working due being submerged in water. The egg can be positioned up to about a 5 meter from the duck to allow clear transmission; this is perfect for us as we have a small bathroom anyway. The box does claim 10 meters, but I think this is pushing it a bit as I find more than 5 meters would cause the signal to get lost.
The sound quality from the duck speaker is pretty average to be honest, it plays music without any crackles but the music does play back sounding a little faded. The volume button is easy to adjust and does allow the sound to be played at a reasonable volume, but doesn't seem to effect the quality which I find remains faded no matter what volume it is set to. Don't get me wrong the songs can still be listened to fairly well and especially if the duck is positioned close it isn't a huge problem, and it is something I pretty much expected due to the small size of the speaker. Just don't expect to hear lots of bass etc and you shouldn't be that disappointed.
It also has a handy built in FM radio transmitter which means not only can I listen to music from my mp3 device but I can also listen to my favourite radio shows. The FM radio sound again is a little faded, but still manages to play radio stations without constant interference or loss of signal.

Overall I think this is a great little clever gift idea for either Christmas or a birthday, it doesn't produce excellent sound quality, but it still manages to play back both mp3 music and FM radio stations fairly well and think it is worth the £14-17 price tag. I would therefore rate this 4/5 losing a rating due to the reasonable sound quality.
