Jamo S606: Sheer Brilliance and Energy (Jamo S606)
Member Name: Subir Vyas
Advantages: Powerful and uncompromised delivery of mid and low frequency sounds. Disadvantages: Somewhat low on bass. Powerful and energetic especially in the mid range category. Brings out low to mid frequencies including vocals with stunning brilliance and clarity, making it a delight for Jazz and western classical lovers. Blues and classic- rock freaks will find these equally cool. The bass (an independant 8" driver) could have been a bit more solid to match the tweeter and mid segments but no major complaints here. A matching sub-woofer is all you need to cover the low end. I run these with a Denon 1500 MkII amplifier and it seems to be a happy marriage. Yes the one thing you do need to keep in mind though is to ensure the bi-wiring is done exactly the way it ought to be - you could mess up a perfectly great set of speakers otherwise. Smart looking and elegant towers that don't hog up space. All in all very robust towers and great value for money. Summary: An understated set of speakers in the world of audio that leave you delighted and surprised.
