Ive had these monitors for over a year and use them in my small home studio, where I record mostly rock music. These monitors are fantastic! Really good sound and at a reasonable price, they easily contend with other monitors that are slightly more expensive. These are active, so dont require and external amp. These monitors are perfect for somebodys first studio, or a smaller proffesional studio, however the 5 inch version does lack bass for those genres which require it, but are perfect for small rooms. If you require more bass, theres allways the 8 inch version or the 10 inch subwoofer that can be added to increase bass response. These monitors certainly look the part, the yellow cones are quite nice and will make any small home studio look proffesional. Easy to integrate into your current system with RCA, or balanced XLR or TRS jack inputs. Each speaker has a volume control and high frequency boost or cut control to adjust the speaker to the enviroment its in.
