Great introduction into audio

Advantages: Cheap, honest speakers
Disadvantages: lack of bass
I have owned this model of monitor for close to 2 years and I have gotten to know it's many advantages and disadvantages.
Each speaker is powered by a separate plug so obviously you'll need to have some sockets handy! The size is the expected size given the sound they emit (if you're used to speakers the size of a wallet then you are in for a treat!)
Lastly, they are heavy. To me, heavy = durable so this is a good thing. I have experienced no problems (touch wood) so far with this product and doubt I will for years to come.
So how does it sound?
Well, through various comparisons I suppose the best word to describe them would be 'honest'. The frequency spectrum is very well balanced and makes your mixes translate very easily to other systems (you are an audio engineer aren't you?...No? Oh dear...). The low end of the spectrum is not the best and I would recommend a krk subwoofer or a respectable pair of headphones to go with it if you are going to be mixing with these.
For the consumer however, I would probably go with something cheaper with more bass. The majority of the public will classify a speaker on how much bass it emits. If you're after bass go elsewhere, if you're after a good all rounder then I think you have found it.
Summary: Aimed more at audio engineers
