I have never known a lot about Logic products and it wasn't a brand that people were ranting and raving about so I never really gave it much thought until I was, as you would say, in-between speakers and needed to borrow one from my brother who happily let me borrow this Logic3 iStation 3.
My first impression of this speakers were "cute" came to mind, they look a little feminine, but I figured never judge a book by its cover right?



The Logic3 iStation 3 is Width 16cm, Height 11.2cm, and Depth 3cm. these speakers are a very powerful black with a Apple docking station protruding from the front, the speakers are on either side of the docking station, the actual speakers themselves are a silver colour and a black rubber rim to help cushion the vibrations of the silver cylinders, the power button located on the base of the docking station, volume up/down in the same area as the power button, also in-between the power button and volume up/down You have the writing "Logic3", and in-between the two speakers at the top you find the writing "iStation". another thing that may surprise you with this speaker is although it looks like it only runs on 2 speakers there is actually a sub-woofer in the bass of the unit that gives you your Booming bass. Just below the writing iStation you will notice another button that says 3D on it to give the illusion that when this button is hit the music will sound fuller as if the music is playing through multiple speakers instead of just 2.


On the reverse side you find a jack for "line in " this jack is used for those cases you don't have an apple product, or the Apple product you have is too new for these speakers in which case you connect your mp3 player into the "line in" jack with a cable that is provided in the box. Even though you are provided with an AC power adapter this unit can also run on batteries if ever you are not near a in wall power supply, all you need is 4 AA batteries and these can last for quite a while. If you use the AC adapter the apple product can charge at the same time as all the other docking speakers, also if you are using batteries the Apple product will still charge at the same time also, which just makes it that little bit more impressive on the batterie life, that it can last so long while charging a ipod/touch...etc.
They have a little stand at the back at the bottom of the speakers that flips out and holds the speakers balanced and upright while you are listening to your music. Also the docking station at the front flips up and is hidden away when not in use and gives it a more slicker and elegant look.
The docking station it is compatible with the following Apple products:

iPod photo, iPod mini, iPod (3G), iPod (4G), iPod nano, iPod with video (5G)

To top it off just like all other good speakers this one is provided with a remote control that matches the black colour of the speakers just giving you that little bit more freedom, with its basic controls of:

Power Off/On
Skip Forward/Back
Fast Forward/Back
Volume Up/Down

Just remember that the range of the speakers is 10 meters so at home it should be fine, but it could get frustrating if you're out doors and forget.



For such a small set of speakers the sound is very good and full, with the combinations of the two dynamic speakers and the sub-woofer it really adds all you need, but a down side is when you turn on the 3D sound button it doesn't do anything really, you hear a slight shift in the music but nothing to write home about. The good thing about the sub-woofer is that the bass isn't banging like it would do in the back of a 19 year olds car who has ripped his back seats out to make room for the sub-woofer, it just a nice throb that adds a perfect quality and clarity to a cute set of speakers, but when listening to these outdoors, although nothing happens to the sound the louder you raise the volume, you just can't hear all the detail of the music like you would do in doors so if you don't mind how they sound out doors then these are fine, but if you want that same quality outdoors you may need to purchase some different speakers.
