Wow! what a pair of speakers I have been really happy with this particular purchase as it has represented great value for money! The attractive appearance of the speakers was a highlight when buying them but I was worried about the brand and the sound quality. So if you're worried that Logitech isn't one of the great brands well known for speakers then there is really nothing to worry about! It's one of those speakers where it goes as loud as you need it go and doesn't ever compromise the sound quality no matter how high you take it, it'll have your neighbours going mad if you want it to! best thing about it is you can stretch each individual speaker around the room so it really does sound great , honestly if you need a great speaker that's going to be similar to SONY or BOSE then go for this one it wont let you down!
These are great surround sound speakers, I have allways though logitec make good quality speakers for a reasonable price and these are no different. I currently have mine plugged into my pc and the speaketrs dotted around the room, the base is excellent and because there are lots of little speakers dotted around the sound quality and volume is the same in each part of the room. There are better quality speakers around but they are much more expensive, I would say that these are middle range speakers but you may pay alot more for something of the same quality with another brand. The speakers are also very stylish and fit in great with most colour schemes, they look modern with out being to extreme and drawing too much attention to themsleves. I like the fact that the speakers are different shapes from each other as it makes them more interesting and they are easier to fit in around your room.
I bought these speakers (perhaps stupidly) while I was at university and had that "just got a massive loan instalment in and my rent's not due for a week - what shall I buy" moments. I say it was a stupid choice not because of the product quality but because of my chain of decisions, especially as I only had a 6' x 5' room at the time.
The speakers are obviously by Logitech which is a fairly good brand and one I have confidence in. I've had things from them before and never been disappointed.
These are 5.1 surround sounds so they have 5 speakers and a subwoofer, you get 2 back speakers, two normal front ones and one centre one and the subwoofer which we keep under the desk. The speakers are a cool shape and they don't take up too much room. They are beige and black but the beige is ok and fairly neutral so they are not at all garish.
A unique feature of these speakers is that you are able to modify speaker with a 'skin' that you can make yourself. For a while I had pictures printed off and I used these and they made it even easier to match the speakers with my room design. The way you can slip these in make them look fairly professional which is really important.
All of the speakers are small enough to tuck away in a corner but they do give plenty of good quality sound. One good thing if you're using these in a small-ish room is that all of the 5 speakers are wall mountable which is good, especially for rear speakers. The rear speakers also have good long cables which means you aren't limited to only using in a small room but they wires aren't too long to make them a problem.
The subwoofer is larger than the other speakers and it is plain black but it is really sturdy and provides bass that doesn't distort which is really important too, especially when I'm playing some quite heavy music or something with a prominent base line.
The speaker system is fairly standardised, as it has a phono input which means you can plug in other devices such as ipods, game consoles, tv, dvd etc. This is good for parties as it means lots of different things can be plugged in and used to play music.
As with plugging in this range of different devices, they sometimes only have a stereo offering so another good feature of these speakers is the "matrix" button which enables you to 'imitate' 5.1 output which is obviously not as good as true 5.1 sound, but it provides a good effect.
Overall at the time these speakers were quite pricey as I paid £70. Now I think this is good value as you can pay a lot more for this kind of thing but I have experience how long lasting they are and how high their quality it. I would now say that they're probably best speakers I've ever had, (only had 3 sets but still).
The control pad is really easy to use. The buttons are clearly labelled and it is a good size so while it is easy to use, it is fairly inconspicuous. It enables you to change the levels of individual sets of speakers, so front/rear/centre/subwoofer etc which is good for smaller rooms, and for when you need to be a bit quieter, or if you're like me... are watching a scary movie but you don't want the scary noises from behind you so much!
On the control pad there are convenient mic and headphone inputs so that you don't have to fiddle around the back of your computer which can be annoying sometimes as it can be hard to get to the sockets sometimes to plug in your headphones.
Overall I really recommend these. I think that they are good value and they have lots to offer. They provide good surround sound and they are easy to mount and to use.
I purchased these speakers to put in my room at uni. Most of the time I use them for playing music but also for watching films occasionally.
First of all the speakers are good looking and easily fit into a room as they are subtle yet very modern. Arranging the cables can be a bit of a faff but if you work out where you want the speakers first before diving in this isn't too much of an issue.
The next step is to plug the jack into your laptop / mp3 player / phone and adjust the volume to suit your mood and the song. The range of volume is huge from quieter than headphones to a volume that will destroy your ears before it destroys the speakers.
The bass is huge and is great for dubstep and drum and bass. It can be adjusted though so that objects stay still on shelves when you fancy a quiet film. The clarity of the sound is also brilliant and is very crisp.
With 5 speakers the system isn't very portable which is a minor downside when having house parties etc. but at least this guarantees your speakers don't end up swimming in lager or worse.
I think these speakers are great and would fully recommend them to everyone. They are so good that I invested in a pair of logitech earphones too and have found them great.
I will start this review by letting you know that I am on my 2nd set of this set of speakers. The reason due to the fact that my first set stopped working suddenly. I think the Amp in the sub overheated but not sure really. Anyway I got a free replacement and the 2nd set is working perfectly!
Logitech are always making superb products and the price does reflect this, but I don't not think this product is overpriced. The speakers ooze quality, from the packaging, the build quality and the way they sound. The system was really easy to set up which comes as a surprise as it is 5.1 which can be fiddly. Within getting it home I had it out of the box and set up in 5 minuets.
Considering this product is for a computer, it has an absolutely ridiculous amount of power, and you would be silly to want any more. The combination of small satellite speakers with a powerful sub woofer gives a very wide sound range and it manges to hit all the super high notes and low notes brilliantly, which is rare for a system of this cost.
I find it fantastic for listening to music and find it very capable of shaking the house down during parties etc... But it really comes into its own when using it for games. I play a lot of First Person Shooters and the advantage of having 5.1 is that because the speakers surround you, in game you can hear peoples footsteps when they try and sneak up behind you, gives you a really good advantage!
These speakers are very easy to set up and use, really well made, a fair p[rice and will do everything you could possible hope for! Unless you are professional user I am sure you will be very pleased if you perches them.
The perfect upgrade to your stand pc desktop speakers.
I found this product in a computer shop as i was browsing around and they were on display. I turned up the volume as there was music playing on the laptop it was connected to and the bass and clear treble was simply amazing. The power the speakers produce and handle is pretty nice. THere are 4 speakers and a subwoofer which is room shattering when cranked to the full volume.
They are a great sourround sound system to setup and they are so portable you can move them from one room to another and all you need to do to set it up is to place the stereo cable i the the stereo jack of your tv and you are away.
Overall it is a quality product that is very reliable and wont let you down when it comes to parties or just personal use and can handle the deep bass lines of dance songs to the high notes of the rock and pop sounds. Very cheap to buy and will last for many years to come.
Never-before has such sound quality graced my PC's speaker jack. These surround speakers with Bass unit form part of my high spec gaming rig and in conjunction with a good sound card, these speakers provide the ultimate in sound quality whether it be for gaming or for music.
The speakers give good volume so are ideal for use in conjunction with an MP3 player at a party and are very reliable. I have accidentally dropped several of the satellites when setting them up at University parties and they still work perfectly. Furthermore, the bass until provides an atmospheric boom that gives my music that extra kick.
I have used these speakers using digital amplification through my PC which boost the volume somewhat but can also cause eventual damage to the speakers however, I have had these for some time and so far they have lasted longer than any over speakers I have used before.
