Disadvantages: Features/ settings.
I bought these speakers from Argos a few months back as I recently got bought a laptop. I was told that these were excellent computer/ 3.5mm speakers, which they are. They look nice, they sound good and most importantly they're not bank breaking. The speakers come in a box, properly packaged with a full instructions and information manual. Like most people, I didn't really read the information booklet (it's not rocket science :D) I found that they are quite easy to attach. You just insert the green lead into the headphone slot in your laptop, they fit all 3.5mm slots, so they would be easily accessible to ipods and phones. They can also be attached to TV's, however I find that TV speakers are pretty loud to begin with. My laptop is quite quiet so when these started playing my music very loudly, I was impressed. To be honest, I was expecting it to have a better bass, but like I stated in the title, they were reasonably cheap!
The speakers are black with a silver outline, an obvious speaker ring in the middle with a sleek, stylish design. The speakers have an adjustable volume controller with an additional headphone slot for attaching portable MP3 devices. The speakers are split into two separate pieces. I find, that this is very useful, and common for desk usage which delivers and equal sound. I don't see these speakers as being suitable for HD televisions, or as a high quality sound processor. When I was searching for speakers to buy, there were lots of choices, but as I had a budget, my choices were limited. When looking through the Argos catalog in store I noticed that these had a 4 star rating for sound quality. There were speakers that cost a lot more than this with a much lower sound quality star rating. However, lacking HD capability and fancy features and controls this sounded much more appealing price wise. I never hesitated when buying them, they were appropriate, sleek and they suit my room.
As far as the sound goes, it's not brilliant. However, it's not terrible. Modern technology these days is always changing, so in my personal opinion this is quite standard technology. I can't see these as being overly popular, but in people in my age group (teens) might appreciate the bargain and see it as loud is loud (I certainly do!) They do go quite loud, their not floor shakers but they are loud. I find that by putting my computer sound max and speaker sound low the sound is perfect for me. I often leave my music on overnight as it's calming. These have lasted me a few months now and I have not noticed any design or manufacturing faults to this date, and hope that they will last me a while.
Like I said, these cost £19.99 from Argos, but they are also available from local entertainment stores and Logitech online. The price may be considerably more depending on location and delivery. Overall, a good quality product, serving me well. Not recommended for outdoor and hall usage (sound might not be loud enough or high enough quality). Mostly recommended for home usage. A recommendation from me though, 4 stars! X x x
Summary: A recommendation from Pinky! xx
