This Logitech speaker system is probably the best option for the price. Of course the benefits of having six satellite speakers is undisputed and gives an experience like no other. However the quality is something akin to a system of far higher price than this. Distortion is only evident at very high levels and I think this increases over time. The subwoofer is superb, though, and they cope excellently with all different types of music.
You can even swivel the satellites' bases so that they can be screwed into a wall.
