Advantages: Ridiculously cheap, good finish of surface, good clarity with well recorded cd's
Disadvantages: at this price?
Partnered with NAD 521 cd and 320 amp, the sound produced on these is excellent. A bargain at £100 (£200 originaly), they have all the right aspects for good front AV speakers and quality stereo use. Available in black or beech veneer, they should look good in any home. They look equally impressive with the covers off to, with their yellow main driver, silk tweeter and gloomy looking front firing bass port. Biwirable, although I have not personally had the chance to make most of this yet, I am sure the sound would improve. Wether it would be detectable to the human ear, I'm not sure. The posts are gold plated and very sturdy, if not biwired, a gold plated connector is supplied to join the terminals together. Even at low volumes the bass production is excellent, only when the amp is past the 12 o'clock point do the missions grumble!! Max power is , i have read, achievd between 10 and 1 o'clock on amps anyway!! Spikes are provided to screw into the bottom, along with sticky rubber feet also, for use on wooden flooring. Using the spikes ( to go through carpet to concrete), the Missions can be levelled and are very sturdy when this is done. It's worth taking some time to do this, as the sound is much more coherent. Overall:- an excellent pair of speakers, sound excellent when used as stereo or Av, very well made and veneered.
