VideoLogic Digitheatre ... you love movies as much as me you try to get as close to a cinematic experience in your own home. So you already own a DVD player and wide screen television well the only thing missing is a complete Dolby Digital home cinema system. The VideoLogic Digitheatere is one such system. It has all you could possibly want. It has two front speakers, two rear speakers, a centre speaker, a subwoofer, the decoder and of course a remote control. All the connecting cables are provided and although there are a lot of speakers it is very easy to wire up. VideoLogic Digitheatre ... bought this system with the intent of using it to plug straight into my PlayStation2 through and optical cable. The sound is fantastic, especially if, like me, you are only used to TV speakers which are very poor quite frankly. DVD movies really come alive with crisp bass, though the Sub can struggle sometimes at very low frequency. The system also allows a stereo TV to be plugged in, which it can then convert into surround sound using Doby Pro Logic. With a variety of inputs you can connect games consoles, hifis, DVD players, PCs, mini discs, TVs and videos - and all cables are provided, except optical which you will need to connect a PlayStation2. VideoLogic Digitheatre ... UPDATE - 1/5/01 There is now a 'silver' Digitheatre DTS, which supposedly has improved speaker cones. There is no difference in pricing, but remember that this opinion relates to the original, black version. A few years ago, the prospect of owning a digital surround sound system in the home was little more than a dream for most mere mortals. A Dolby Digital amp couldn’t have been purchased for much less than £1000, or a decent set of speakers for less than £300. So, it is understandable that the original VideoLogic DigiTheatre ruffled more than it’s fair share of feathers when it was released in 1999 for only £250. At this price, the fact ...
