I'm not an audiophile by any stretch of the imagination, but I found the speakers in my TV to be far too tinny..........so I went on the lookout for something cheap that could give a little bit of a boost, and decided to go for these. And overall, whilst they have a few flaws, it was a worthy purchase.
Setting up the speakers was not too difficult, although I have to say that the manual was of no help whatsoever in this regard, so anyone who doesn't have much experience with all the types of audio cabling may find themselves a little stuck. On the bright side, the end of the speaker cables and the connections on the subwoofer are colour coded, so that shouldn't pose too much of a worry. And once they are set up, operating them is simple - you have an on/off switch on the back of the subwoofer, a volume control on the front of it, and a remote that has adjustment controls for bass, treble, and volume for individual speakers. My only complaint here is, if you adjust the sound to your liking, but then turn the speakers off, it forgets the adjustments - meaning you have to adjust the settings again when you next turn them on. The sound quality is good, however - not cinema-like, but for me, it is a big improvement over the "stock" sound from the TV; a more bassy sound, whilst still retaining enough clarity.
In conclusion then, it was a worthy purchase, and I would recommend to anyone who wants a simple set of speakers, with no frills. If you want more control and sophistication over the sound you want, look at the more pricer sets out there.
Before i brought these i never thought speakers where necessary, now im so used to the great quality sound it produces,
there fairly easy to set up although alot of wires and the plugs a big short.
comes with a great remote that allows u too change bass and surround sound among other things,
im not a expert in speakers so i cant speak for in comparison, but i have a quite laptop and this product has made all the difference.
the speakers are easy to use and adjust, its been really helpful when watching something on bbc i player, we would struggle to hear precisesly, with these i just turn the bass down and i can hear fine
or if im listening to music i adjust settings with ease on the remote to whatever sounds good.
my only issue as previously mentioned is the plug, i have a choice between a lamp or these speakers because i only have one plug extension in my room and they cant both stretch to it at once, not great. Probably be fine for someone with more than one plug socket! its approx. a metre long but that's a guess.
Firstly I would point out I had never heard of the brand "Technika", but upon hearing a demonstration at my local Comet, I was suitably impressed!
One of the most impressive things is the build quality, these are not "plasticky" cheap speakers, but of heavier stock and reproduce sound faithfully to the original recording.
The cones used in the 4 satellite speakers, proved strong, and when I played Rhiana Umbrella , the picth and tone seemed perfect. One of the most difficult things is to faithfully reproduce bass (low frequency) while still keeping the pitch, and treble (usually where you hear the vocal performance). I am delighted to say this came through with flying colours.
When it comes to connecting to a dvd player, channel seperation is paramount, so it vital that units are tested to high standards, for this reason I decided to hook it up to Panic Room with Jodi foster, all I can say is that the bit where the basketball bounces across the wooden floor, certainly will turn a few heads in your front room!!
The speed of the sound being transmitted front front left speaker, to centre -front right and so on was realistic, and kept the action moving along in acordance with the movie.
overal rating 9/10
Technika 5.1 Home Theatre Speakers (Technika Speakers)
I got my technika speakers around a week ago from tesco's for around £20, and so far I think they are just as good as my Dell 5.1 Home Theatre Speakers that cost me almost £200! The speakers came in big box! And there are five speakers and one subwoofer. There is also a remote and instructions included too. Unfortunally there is no AAA batteries with the remote but they are only around £1.50! But all speaker cables are included. The speakers can fit into any Games console e.g. Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii and many more! They can also fit into DVD Players, Laptops, Desktops, Freeview boxes etc.
In the Box...
On the outsides of the box there is pictures of the speakers and information on the speakers! In side the box there is Instructions, Remote, Five speakers (Front Left and Right, Back Left and Right and Centre). There is also a Subwoofer too. On the back of the subwoofer there is three inputs to the speakers for Front Left and Right, Back Left and Right and Centre. So you can connect three devices to the speakers at one time! Below that there is the inputs of the speakers! Also on the Side there is a On and Off switch. On the front there is a Round wheel that turns up and down the volume. All the speakers and Subwoofer are Black with a Silver front around it, and on the bottom there is a logo "Technika". The speaker cables included are L & R to 3.5mm Headphone, which will fit into any TV, Laptop, Computer Headphone slot. Also on the remote from top to bottom there are buttons Mute, Surround, Bypass, Front volume up or down, Centre volume up or down, Rear volume up or down, Bass up or down and Volume up and down! At the top there is a white logo "Technika" and at the bottom there is "Remote Control". On the Back of the remote there is a slot for two AAA Batteries.
Quality of the Technika 5.1 Home Theatre Speakers...
The Quality of the speakers are excellent, especially the bass. And the way you can turn up the front speakers and turn down the Rear speakers! And if you want bypass the surround sound and play the audio via front two speakers, And the quality and sound is still great!
Overal I think the Technika 5.1 Home Theatre Speakers are one of the best speakers I have ever bought and they are only around £20, In Tesco's supermarket found anywhere in the United Kingdom! And im sure you can buy them anywhere else via Online e.g. Amazon or Ebay. But I cannot belive what price they where, for high quality speakers! Five Speakers and a Subwoofer for £20. I would recommend anyone who wants cheap but quality speakers for any device iPod, MP3 player, DVD Player etc, to buy Technika 5.1 Home Theatre Speakers!
