As Dj discomobile I buy two MSR 400 for use on the front.
After 3 years of use, no failure to state! These are very powerful speakers at a suitable price, high reliability if did not mistreat them.
-Various Positions For Use (standing, sleeping, standing, front or back ...)
-Very Good finishes
-Aigu / Medium Bass and adjustable
-Of Suitable for bass speakers
-Pique Eardrums at acute high yield, and the settings on the speakers there will be nothing for you to reduce acute upstream!
to conclude :
A good speaker that we do a Yamaha, powerful and reliable, only 450 € that is not nothing, this speaker is at the height of its price and competition largely markets other speakers in the same range, with its advantages and drawbacks.
These speakers are brilliant, although not really for the elderly of those living in shared accommodation of apartments with poor quality walls as these can tend to blast out sounds like Mike Tysons right hand in his glory days.
You can get the woofers in a few sizes, 10”, 12” and the 8” that I have, or had. Ranging in watts from below 100 to about 400., (mine is the lower watt).
They are pretty light too, considering that they are a good size. And to make them more portable they have a little handle on them so that you can carry them. The handle being on the upper edge, which is on the side as they are sat.
when you look at the speakers they remind me of those early warning systems that were used in the early wars, the ones that are in the White Cliffs of Dover with the arched shapes that collect the sound as it comes in from the sea. In this 'arc look, on the upper section is the speaker itself, which uses the shape to give the sound a good boast right from the beginning.
There's another narrower arc on the lower section, with another speaker in between the two arches.
They are designed to be used with other speakers within their style, although all the separate speakers and attachments will cost money, which is why I just stuck to the two speakers as they were good enough for general music listening. I did have them attached to the television as well which made watching movies a more pleasing experience in some cases as the speakers really did make me feel as if the movie was happening around me, especially with my eyes shut.
But on there own they sit on four small plug leg type thing that lift them just off the ground, but as they are still touching the ground they do make the floorboards rattle when the music starts.
The ones I had cost me £80 for the pair, which seemed a little bit too much for what are simply something to listen to music through, but I knew they were good speakers as a friend of mine had them, so I was sure that they were worth the money.
And they sure were.
I was given these speakers from a relative as a christmas present and at first I was unsure of what it was and how it even worked, I HAD NEVER heard of it's make and it left me confused but I was truly surprised at how well it worked and how easy it was to use and also setup although when I received it the box was badly damaged and bashed due to poor packaging but that is no fault of the product, the product itself is magnificent and works tremendously well with no faults even after a year and a half of use. I used it last week for a party and the sound travelled throughout the crowd whilst still maintaining it's high quality sound, I was very impressed it even handle very fast beat songs without any mumbling which is a constant problem with many other speakers. The design of the yamaha speaker is very sleek with a stylish streak in it, they managed to fit great sound, great style and even great power into one small speaker. It has enough power to make the vibrations spread throughout the house and if it is placed on a table with other devices it physically shakes them. Although this is a fantastic product I found myself arguing whether I should invest in such an expensive device but it was truly worth, I went out on a limb and it worked for me. I honestly love this product, it has so much to give and you have so much to gain. I would recommend this to anyone who is thinking of buying a speaker. Amazing.
MeBeSte's: Yamaha MSR400 Review
If you are a DJ looking for a great powered speaker or a musician who requires an amp - Yamaha's MSR400 speaker could be just for you!
The woofers are available in 8", 10" & 12" going from 100-400 watts of power accepting mic/line in as well as supporting built-in pole sockets for stand mounting. They are built extremely well and will last many, many years.
I am a mobile DJ and I have used a set of the 12" powered speakers for various disco's. The sound quality is superb all the way from clarity to bass so no need for an amp. My friend plays the guitar, he has plugged it into one of my speakers before and he was more than impressed with what they could produce so I would recommend them to guitarists and other musicians alike. I have also heard they are great for stage monitors although I cannot personally vouch for this from experience.
They are really simple to transport with integral, ergonomic handles and fairly lightweight coming in at just over 50 pounds per speaker - The 100 watt models weights just 24 pounds. I usually use passive speakers in my set up but the controls are simple and its easy to amend level adjustments for bass, treble and more.
I would say that the price is fairly high although they are more than worth it and you wouldn't be disappointed if you were looking to buy one, a set or even more.
