I was given these speakers from a relative as a christmas present and at first I was unsure of what it was and how it even worked, I HAD NEVER heard of it's make and it left me confused but I was truly surprised at how well it worked and how easy it was to use and also setup although when I received it the box was badly damaged and bashed due to poor packaging but that is no fault of the product, the product itself is magnificent and works tremendously well with no faults even after a year and a half of use. I used it last week for a party and the sound travelled throughout the crowd whilst still maintaining it's high quality sound, I was very impressed it even handle very fast beat songs without any mumbling which is a constant problem with many other speakers. The design of the yamaha speaker is very sleek with a stylish streak in it, they managed to fit great sound, great style and even great power into one small speaker. It has enough power to make the vibrations spread throughout the house and if it is placed on a table with other devices it physically shakes them. Although this is a fantastic product I found myself arguing whether I should invest in such an expensive device but it was truly worth, I went out on a limb and it worked for me. I honestly love this product, it has so much to give and you have so much to gain. I would recommend this to anyone who is thinking of buying a speaker. Amazing.
MeBeSte's: Yamaha MSR400 Review
If you are a DJ looking for a great powered speaker or a musician who requires an amp - Yamaha's MSR400 speaker could be just for you!
The woofers are available in 8", 10" & 12" going from 100-400 watts of power accepting mic/line in as well as supporting built-in pole sockets for stand mounting. They are built extremely well and will last many, many years.
I am a mobile DJ and I have used a set of the 12" powered speakers for various disco's. The sound quality is superb all the way from clarity to bass so no need for an amp. My friend plays the guitar, he has plugged it into one of my speakers before and he was more than impressed with what they could produce so I would recommend them to guitarists and other musicians alike. I have also heard they are great for stage monitors although I cannot personally vouch for this from experience.
They are really simple to transport with integral, ergonomic handles and fairly lightweight coming in at just over 50 pounds per speaker - The 100 watt models weights just 24 pounds. I usually use passive speakers in my set up but the controls are simple and its easy to amend level adjustments for bass, treble and more.
I would say that the price is fairly high although they are more than worth it and you wouldn't be disappointed if you were looking to buy one, a set or even more.
