A great piece of kit which enhances the sound of television exponentially

The Yamaha Ysp-800 does exactly as described. I was struck with how clear the sound was as I watched TV, you can hear every sound clearly, which wasn't the case with my televisions standard built-in speakers. The speaker was easy to set-up, I plugged it in the TV with the cable provided, using the clear instructions and an auto setup came on the television screen. I started this and the speaker worked out what the best settings were for the room it was in, which I felt was extremely clever! After a few minutes it was finished and ready to use.

The unit has various speakers inside which can be pointed in different directions and different settings which provide a sound that encompasses you. It truly is a surround sound feeling, without the nuisance of setting up various speakers around the room, eliminating all the cabling and putting brackets on the wall and all that. The settings are easy to alter with the remote control, which is easy to use. The array of settings is impressive, where you can adjust sound programmes to suit the programme you are watching, for example there is a setting for sport, movies etc.

This speaker unit enhances television watching, movie watching and when playing games. The surround sound engrosses you in the movie, making the movie a great source of escapism. Explosions are things like car crashes are brought to life and it feels as if you are almost in the movie as a fly on the wall. These explosions are also brought to life when playing games. This unit really enhanced my gaming experience as instead of the standard television speakers, spewing out poor sound, this speaker unit made many more sounds clear I never knew even existed!

I situated my unit on a shelf below the television and it's aesthetically pleasing. It doesn't stick out and it can suit most televisions in a visual sence. My television is black and it looks great. The unit is very sturdy and solid feeling, which I personally look for when purchasing speakers as a sign of quality.

I've had this speaker unit for over a year now and I 've had no problems with it at all, it's a very reliable piece of kit. The instructions are very clear if any problems may arise. Overall an impressive piece of kit and well worth shelling out on as it will last for years and years, producing great quality sound.

As amazing as it seems, the YSP-800 can actually deliver multiple channels of sound that surround listeners the same way that sound from front, center and surround speakers does. There is a wider range of optimum listening positions thanks to the proliferation of audio "sweet spots."

Flat panel LCD and plasma monitors are becoming very popular, but many people wish they could also have thin speakers, rather than the usual boxes to the front and sides. The YSP-800 has a compact, slim profile and is a perfect match for 32" TVs and monitors.

Connecting the YSP-800 is much simpler than with conventional home theater systems, because multiple speaker cables are not necessary. Placement is flexible - the component can be positioned above or below the display in the front-center of the room, or in either of the front corners. It is compact enough that space should not be a problem in almost any setting. It can also be wall mounted, or placed on a shelf or rack.
