This packet has two servings of onion in it and costs 32 pence. Admittedly if you are cooking for more than two people, or if you regularly use onions and are happy to buy them by the kilogram, then you will be able to get them cheaper than this. A kilogram of cheapish onions will cost about £1 at most stores so obviously that's a bit of a saving. This weekend I headed to Asda to pick up some ingredients for a duck stir fry I was planning on making. I wanted some spring onions to add to it, but they didn't have any at the supermarket. I decided I would have to buy a normal onion, but I find them to be a bit of a pain to cut up and I also find that seeing as I usually only cook for two, I don't need the whole onion and I end up wasting some.
