Advantages: Everything

Disadvantages: Nothing at all!

When it comes to tinned sweetcorn it's something I always like to have in the store cupboard. I love the stuff mixed with tuna, in pies and on it's own and I am really a big fan of anything with sweetcorn in it generally really!

The other day I spotted this from the Asda 'Smart Price' range and I hadn't seen it before and at 33p a can I decided to get a couple of cans as that is cheap for sweetcorn in my experience!

The Packaging:

326g can that has a green and white label around it and on the front I am told that it is Asda 'Smart Price Sweetcorn 'in water. On the back of the can other information listed includes ingredients and storage details being given, I'm told how to heat them up and a full nutritional rundown is given and contact details for Asda are also given. It is a cheap looking can to be honest with you but in my mind it's always product that counts and I'm willing to not pay out for a fancy looking can if the sweetcorn is nice in this!

The Sweetcorn:

All you do with this of course is empty the sweetcorn kernels into a saucepan in the water they come in into a saucepan and heat them through for 3-4 minutes or pop them into something microwavable and heat them for a minute in the microwave! Simple!

The sweetcorn looks like conventional sweetcorn, nothing more, nothing less. Lots of bright yellow and small kernels that have been stored in water so they look fresh and succulent.

Taste wise well these are rather great! Crunchy and naturally sweet and not too salty they taste to me like fresh sweetcorn. No nasty bits, no nasty skins just tasty sweetcorn that isn't dried up or tough just fresh tasting! Lovely stuff that is versatile too I can't imagine paying out more in the future for the same thing if I don't have to!
