Heinz Baked Beans Pork Sausages
Advantages: Great Meal Or Snack, Low In Fat, Lots Of Fibre, Recyclable Can.
Disadvantages: High In Salt, Expensive.
I purchased my Heinz baked beans with pork sausages from my local Sainsburys for 90p but these can be purchased cheaper on occasion so I usually keep my eyes peeled for special offers as I love Heinz products.
The can size is standard and contains 415g of baked beans in tomato sauce with pork sausages and there is a good distribution of pork sausages and baked beans in a rich tomato sauce.
This product is from Heinz who has been established since 1869.
Baked beans with pork sausages are a nice meal as on toast or even as an accompaniment to a main meal. Also, these are fantastic if you go camping as the cans normally have a ring pull (even if they don't you can just take a can opener) and then you can heat these up and these really are a meal on their own with some bread or toast if you have the facility.
I personally prefer to have mine with white toasted bread and I let the bread cool a little before I butter it to ensure that the toast doesn't go too soggy.
These can be cooked on the hob in a saucepan or in the microwave for about 3 minutes and I always wait until they are steaming before serving.
I personally prefer to cook mine in the microwave and I cover the bowl with a plate to avoid any mess in the microwave, then you only have a few things to wash up and that's always a great time saver!
The beans are lovely and the sauce is lovely and full of flavour, it's a rich tomato style sauce and the pork sausages are quite meaty and have a hot dog style consistency to them.
I would recommend this product as it's a great snack or great as part of a main meal.
Per Half Can:
6.8g Fat (very low fat - great!)
2.1g Salt equivalent.
This product is fairly high in salt but you can always purchase the can which has lower salt, sugar and fat although personally I find that these are the better tasting beans but the pork sausages seem to be the same whatever!
These are great and I'm a huge fan of Heinz products so these baked beans with pork sausages are going to get a 4/5 from me as they are delicious but I've knocked one star off because of the very high price.
Summary: A Fantastic Can Of Baked Beans & Pork Sausages.
