At home, my mum struggles to find something the whole family will eat, as we all tend to be very fussy! Just about the only thing that she has managed to find is chicken. Roast chicken, breaded chicken and chicken wrapped in bacon were among the winners. However, these options get old quite quickly and she was always on the lookout for something new using our shared favourite ingredient. And finally, we found something!

Maggi So Juicy chicken spices are wonderful! They are around 50p for a sachet of dry spice/flavour mix and that includes the handy disposable chicken steam bag and tie. These flavours for chicken come in a wide varitey including sweet and sour, barbeque and tasty but simple garlic.

Now these flavour sachets are different to most other brands. Basically, you pick the flavour you want to use and then the cut of chicken. We usually use chicken breast, but you can also use thighs, or even wings. Then, you take the bag that comes in the sachet in the seperate section at the top. It is quite large so you should have no problem fitting the meat in. Then once the meat is in the bag, sprinkle in the flavouring. Tie up the top of the bag, using the tie provided and smush (technical term) the chicken around so that it becomes completely coated in the dry mixture. Pop the bag into the oven on a tray and 30-40 minutes later (depending on the cut of chicken you used) you will have gorgeous juicy chicken.

I have tried the sweet and sour and the barbeque flavours of this chicken and each time it has been consistently good. The chicken comes out very juicy and tender which means it is a favourite for everyone. The extra flavour from the spice mix really packs a punch too and they are complementary to what otherwise might be a very dull meat.
