A Fantastic Bag Of Crispy Potatoes That Are Very Versatile.

Sometimes I just want a night where I don't have to cook (quited often lately if I'm honest!) and on a night like this generally we have chips or something like that but to be honest we hae had just about every style possible lately and we are sick to the back teeth of them. When I spotted these crispy potatoes I just had to pick up a packet to have a change from the norm and I knew that these would go down well in my house as my, or anyone elses, roast potatoes usually do!

These potatoes are available in the freezer section of Sainsburys with a 750g bag costing £1.25 and if you shop online then you can purchase these via the Sainsburys website.

The potatoes are fairly small, uniform sizes of potato which have a light crispy batter coating on them and take around 35 minutes in a very hot oven. I initially thought that the cooking time was quite high but it's nice & accurate for the potatoes to take on a lovely brown tinge to their corners and yet still be lovely and crispy on the outside while soft and fluffy on the inside. The potatoes are delicious and really do crisp up beautifully.

Ingredients: Potatoes (95%), Batter (Water, Wheat Flour, Maize Flour, Salt, Raising Agents: Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate, Monocalcium Phosphate; Pepper), Palm Oil.

These potatoes can be turned in to delicious meal with the addition of a few herbs & spices or some bacon & cheese even! One night I even added some cooked crispy potatoes to cooked bacon, chicken & threw in some cubed cheese then stir fried it all with egg noodles & wok rice & while this may sound a little random it was absolutely delicious and a real carb fest! These potatoes are wonderful even served on their own as I did recently when we had a party food night!

Per 100g of crispy potatoes there is 176 calories, 1.9g protein, 25.9g carbohydrates (of which 24.9g is starch), 7.2g fat (of which 3.4g saturates), 3.4g fibre & 0.1g of salt so providing you don't go over the top there is no reason that you can't enjoy these delicious crispy potatoes!

The quality of the potatoes is very good and I simply just throw a few handfuls on to a baking tray and then put in the oven and leave for 35-40 minutes and I really don't need to worry about checking them or doing anything to them and they still cook perfectly! These are no mess, no fuss potatoes which require no effort yet taste lovely! These potatoes are the ideal accompaniment to loads of different meals and are ideal for nights when you a little time to cook but no energy and I think that the price is very reasonable as the bag lasts for a fair few servings and saves me bags of time and effort in having to peel and chop potatoes.
