I'll Deffo Buy Birds Eye Next Time!

Last time we ordered from Tesco the Birds Eye frozen peas we ALWAYS buy were substituted with a bigger bag of these Tesco own brand peas, they cost more than the smaller bag we'd ordered so it was a fair swap but it was annoying because I don't like any others apart from Birds Eye.

The peas looked exactly the same as the Birds Eye ones and when they were cooked the looked nice on the plate, they're a fresh green colour and not the manky fake green you get from some cheap peas.

The texture of them was a bit mushier than Birds Eye, not that you'd notice much it's just that they felt softer to chew and that was something I wasn't mad on because I like how firm Birds Eye peas are and that the skin on them is a bit crackly.

The taste was good but I didn't think they tasted fresh, I can't say when but they had a bit of an artificial taste to them and I could tell from the taste of them that they were a cheaper brand.

I had put some mint in the cooking water but they didn't soak up the flavour as good as Birds Eye, when i put a bit of butter on top of the peas it soaked through them nice and did make they taste better but they still tasted like an inferior frozen pea!
