Costs More And Doesn't Save You All That Much Time Anyway!!!

This is the most stupid thing my mum has ever brought, it's a bag of whole potatoes that Tesco have already peeled for her. You pay for them though and this little bag of about 8 potatoes cost more than a full sized bag of spuds that have still got their skins on! I'm not sure what variety of potatoes they are but they are white potatoes and quite fluffy once they've been cooked, we've only had them boiled but I reckon you could do anything with these potatoes that you would do with any others. You have to cut them up yourself so Tesco aren't making people COMPLETELY lazy with these, but a spud takes less than a minute to peel so I can't see the point in them..... especially being as you've got to cut them up yourself, it might be a bit different (but still STUPID!!!) if you could just open the bag and tip them into the saucepan! They have got a nice flavour, well they just taste like any other boiled potato once they're cooked! They go lovely and soft when they're boiled and I reckon the fluffy texture of the spuds means they'd go wicked as roast potatoes as well. We cooked ours in salted water with a bit of fresh mint added to it and then when they was on the plates my mum poured a bit of melted butter over them. They was delish but like I said I don't think they tasted any better than any other potatoes. I suppose the idea is to help you save time in the kitchen but this is just stupid because it's only saving you a couple of minutes and they cost loads more to buy then spuds that you have to peel yourself. Also we had to use 2 bags to feed the 5 of us and then mum was left with 2 peeled potatoes in the fridge that was more than she needed..... the problem was that because they didn't have the skins on as soon as she opened the bag the potatoes started changing colour and by the next day they looked grey and horrible and nobody would have eaten them. Not recommended.... unless you're very lazy!!!
