I have used these tomatoes lots over the years and in my opinion a chopped tomatoe is a chopped tomatoe - but is it!!

What is it?

chopped tomatoes are tomatoes that have been chopped - of course!! for our convenience! now we could do this ourselves but it is rather messy! these save a lot of hassle and can be kept in an un-opened tin in the cupboard ready for when you need them.

Value
-------
Well I always say generally you get what you pay for and although I would say that the taste is no different from any other kind of tinned chopped tomatoe I would say that these are rather more soggy and lots more liquid but then you're only paying about 31p per tin (May 2012).

Uses
-------
The list is endless but I've used to make pasta bake sauces, tomatoe soups, bulk up cottage pies or other meat dishes, bolognaise, lasagna or just on their own with a cooked breakfast - great if you're camping!

Summary
-----------
The humble chopped tomatoe is a must for any kitchen, it's so useful in many dishes and so cheap too. The packaging is a bit bland but then this is the value range! I feel these are value for money even if a little sloppy, if you want a less sloppy type then you must buy a more expensive version.
