Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum is no doubt my favourite rum by far. Retailing at 15 - 20 pounds, its well worth the money.
Great to mix with cola, or perhaps on the rocks, the bottle itself is more than presentable. For those not familiar, sailor jerry is a term coined in tattoo culture, often associated with traditional sailor tattoos and the tattooist who did them (who is pictured on the back) and this bottle of rum is a great tribute to the scene.
That aside, its a top quality beverage on its own. No need for refrigeration - though some may enjoy it - as it does taste great at room temperature. Its alcoholic content is 40% - a standard, really - but it can be enjoyed whenever you like if you use the right consistency - that is of course for the users discretion.
So i believe that Sailor Jerry is a great beverage. Worth the money, and aesthetically pleasing, its a great rum for those not too familiar with the alcohol.
The new recipe. 'I'm never satisfied with good enough' - Norman 'Sailor Jerry' Collins 1911-1973. Norman 'Sailor Jerry' Collins, the father of old school tattooing, constantly sought to reinvent himself. The team at Sailor Jerry have made some changes. The taste is less sweet, allowing the vanilla and natural spices to come through and the label now has a Hula Girl centre stage, reflecting the legacy of the Norman Collins. Best served over ice with cola or ginger beer and a squeeze of fresh lime.
