Advantages: The taste
Disadvantages: Not always available in clubs
About a year ago, one of my good friends introduced me to Morgans Spiced rum. I was hooked straight away! However, I found that many pubs did not stock this rum. My friend told me to lookk out for Sailor Jerrys instead, as it is a similar taste and he was completely right.
For me, Sailor Jerrys is even better than Morgans Spiced rum. I enjoy it with coke, ice and a squeeze of lime. It just tastes amazing. The key ingredient is the squeeze of lime. It tastes significantly different without it. Other combinations that I have heard of are Sailor Jerrys and ginger ale, but I do not care for this combination as much.
The element which stands out for me, is the vinilla taste. It is so strong and so evident, it makes the drink taste great. I have never tasted Sailor Jerry's neat, but the smell of it is very strong I wouldn't recommend trying it.
Sailor Jerry's is readily available in most pubs. Normally it is pretty reasonably priced. A weatherspoons pub will sell a double sailor jerrys and coke for £3.29, which is excellent value. You can also purchase 1 litre bottles of Sailor Jerrys for about £16 from most supermarkets. Not bad value. Not many clubs tend to stock Sailor Jerry's, which is slightly annoying.
A bottle of Sailor Jerry's is always easy to pick out on a shelf, as it has a cartoon picture of a women on the front of it, with her long legs stretching down the bottle.
All in all I love Sailor Jerry's with coke and lime and fully recommend it for all. I award it five out five Dooyoo stars. Simply brilliant!!!
Summary: Add coke and lime for an amazing taste
