Tesco Value Vodka
Advantages: Cheap and pretty cheerful
Disadvantages: Taste isn't great
I have never been a huge fan of vodka, but i still drink it with coke or orange juice. I have always tried to drink Smirnoff as its my favourite. But being a university student I couldn't always afford to get it, so I used to buy tesco value vodka. This product has now changed and is called tesco everyday value vodka. It has also gone up in price from when I used to buy it last year. The bottle is very basic and looks cheap, but tesco value products are usually no frills and a little bit tacky. Most of my friends drink this as they see it as the best alternative to more expensive brands. I will now go into more detail on this product, it is worth trying if your are on a tight budget.
Last year I used to pay just over £7 for this, it now costs £9.29. This increase in price has put me off getting this as it used to be great value. It is still around £3 cheaper than other brands which still makes it appealing if your on a budget. You get 700ml of vodka for your money which should last quite a long time. Overall the value is good and better than the other prices for vodka. It certainly stands out on the shelf due to its looks and it's price. Any spirit under £10 gets my vote because spirits can become expensive!
This vodka has a very basic and not very brilliant taste. It goes ok with coke or another mixer. If you are going to be taking shots of this then I would recommend you don't! It tastes horrible on its own and burns your throat badly, more expensive vodka can taste nice on its own, this certainly doesn't and you can tell its cheap just by the taste, the quality is not brilliant. It's perfect though for parties such as Christmas or new year as its cheap to get in and people won't care about the taste after they have had a few! I certainly don't drink to get drunk, I'm a sensible drinker. I prefer to have a drink that tastes nice and I will enjoy, so I try to avoid this now. As I said before. This is a typical student drink!
This vodka is average and a pretty good. I would recommend that you try this if you enjoy vodka. I probably won't be buying this again because I am not a huge fan of the taste. I still think its perfect for for parties so I may get this in for Christmas this year!
This gets a 2 star rating from me. A bit below average!
Thanks for reading my review :)
