... is a Scottish whiskey that was first founded in Glasgow around 1844 by James Whyte and Charles Mackay. The whiskey is made up from 6 different grain whiskies where they are mixed with malted barley, yeast and pure spring water. Most distillers only give their whiskies one maturation which means the process of becoming mature. At Whyte and Mackay they do a double maturation, hence the word "Special" and the 2 lions on the front of the bottle. Before I start my review I would like to point out that Whyte and Mackay is a Whisky and not a VODKA!! as printed under "Product Type" moan of the day over! I do enjoy a little tipple now and again, with whiskey being one of my favourite drinks in the winter, can't touch it in the summer it has to to Vodka then. I suppose with the cold wintery nights it is nice to sit down and have a warming drink to sip. I've tried many different whiskies and this is the one I prefer by far, I don't drink my drinks neat, so maybe this is lost on me. I always have soda water or sometimes the odd splash of Coke.
