Advantages: comfy, good value, timeless style
Disadvantages: none!
There are certain things that the British government should issue as standard to its citizens. Bread would be a good one. Adidas Classics would be another. They are quite simply the most comfortable trainers ever produced (and yes, I've tried on every pair of trainers ever made). For those who live under rocks or similar, Adidas Classics are the white leather ones with a round toe. Some have grooved plastic toe caps, some are plain; all have the trademark three stripes down the side (various colours - I currently have silver which is good for playing astronauts). Gail Porter wears them a lot, though I don't know if that's much of an endorsement. I admit to being kind of biased on this matter as I don't 'do' proper shoes, but they are the creme de la creme of sports shoes. Must confess though that I never do any actual sport either so I can't comment too much on their functionality, although in truth I'm not sure they're really made for sport. They are sometimes known as the hip-hop trainer (they look good worn with baggy trousers) but have also graced the feet of the drum 'n' bass crowd, peeking out of funky cords. They're basically very versatile, and if you're a girl they even go well with skirts. They're also very good value when you consider that each new season's Nikes are normally over £100 - Classics cost between £25-50 depending on style and outlet, and they're durable AND timeless, so you won't need to replace them too often (unless like me you wear them every day and sometimes to bed). They also make them in half-sizes so you can get a perfect fit. God bless Adidas.
