Advantages: good, good, good
Disadvantages: no where to skate
I used to skate, I used to love skating, I used to love skating all the time. Why don't I skate anymore if I love it? well let me tell you why, there is no where to skate where I live. Me and my friends used to skate up at our school, it was a great place to skate, then we were told that we weren't allowed to skate at school, so we just gave up on skating because there is no where to do it. The reason, by the way, that we aren't allowed to skate at school anymore is because someone fell and hurt themselves bad. It wasn't that we vandalised the school, or were disruptive or anything, just so it's clear. And what makes this worse is that I was just starting to get good, I had just performed my very first 180, after about 100 attempts and nearly breaking my wrists (from falling wrong). Don't get me wrong, I wasn't bad, it was just that we used to play street hockey, and only towards the end started to adventure into the world of aggressive skating. I might consider starting again, buying some blades and some pads, but... no one skates no more, no one loves it no more, they've all grown up, and my love for the sport has remained. I would start up again, I have two friends who skate, but they are both frustrated like me that there is no where to skate. If anyone reading this is a big business man in the extreme sports industry, then you should open up in Cockermouth, because you would get so much business. I hope this opinion has relayed that there is not enough places to skate in Britain, and that it is great. Have a nice day!
