Premium Review Converse: Rubber Soul (513 words)
by - written on 03/02/08 (Very useful, 134 readings)
Rating:

After seeing my Topman own brand shoes shredding up the more I put my feet in them, I decided to take the plunge and buy a pair of converse all star trainers. For years I'd seen students parading them around like handbags, with all the variety everyone had to have some. That was until last year, when all of a sudden overnight my fellow raggedy young guns put down their converse and put on their vans. With the tide changing, and now knowing I wouldn't just look like everyone else, I had to get some. I'd always admired their appeal. I proceeded to enter the Schuh store before work but sadly they only had 3 colours of converse in, with black, navy, and white. I ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review overated? (247 words)

You could quite easily lose count at the amount of people you see wearing converse just walking down the street. Going with the latest fashion, I decided to get a pair, don't know why, I didn't particularly like them at first, but £30 wasn't a bad price, and I was getting desperate for footwear. I went for the black, low-cut ones, as they looked the best without standing out too much; I had many different colours and designs to choose from in the store: black, blue, red, green... then strange patterned ones - I personally wouldn't want to be seen wearing some of these. Being shoes and not trainers, I found the padding to be quite hard on ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Converse with men makes sharp the glittering wit... (904 words)

As a pretty lazy teenage boy, I have a bad habit of wearing shoes until utter oblivion consumes them. My last pair (some nice blue Trespass thingies) I liked so much that I wore them until the soles fell to bits, then duck taped them back together and continued wearing them until I had to duck tape the duck tape. In desperation I searched for a similar pair and found nothing good at all - until I turned to Converse. I was a bit sceptical at first. In economics there is a term called the Snob Effect - this is a psychological effect that affects some people, increasing their price elasticity of demand for a good as more and more other people consume it. Premium Review Converse rocks my socks (531 words)

Rating:

I started wearing Converse stuff at about the age of mid teens, in particular Converse All Stars and Chuck Taylors. They are a American born retailer of trainers, bags and rucksacks and selected sportswear eg hoodies. History of Converse= Marquis Mills Converse started the Converse Rubber Shoe Company (also known as the Boston Rubber Shoe Company) in 1908, and the factory was located in Massachusetts. The company was a rubber shoe manufacturer, surprisingly enough providing rubber soled footwear. In 1915 that the company began manufacturing athletic shoes for tennis. Converse All-Star basketball shoe was introduced in 1917, and 1921, a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Converse: The Best Trainers I've Ever Had! (501 words)
by - written on 01/05/09 (Very useful, 116 readings)
Rating:

I've been a fan of Converse since I turned into a little rocker/mosher at the tender age of 11, my mum bought me my first pair of purple converse high top trainers, which lasted me about a year as I wore them to death, literally wearing them everyday of the year come rain or shine. The soles were falling apart and they stunk to high heaven, but i refused to give in and throw away my beloved 'connies'. Then my mum did the unthinkable and threw them away claiming the dog had chewed them so they were unwearable, I was truely gutted. Christmas came around and under the tree was a brand new pair of Converse all stars, this time in pink! I was in love all over ...  Read the complete review
