Advantages: comfy, cheap, more than one colour
Disadvantages: none
When I hear the word Converse it always reminds me of people in the rock/punk scene in music or the scene in general. They are always seen wearing Converse but this didn't stop me from having a try. A lot of people wear these shoes and I liked the look of them so one day I decided to go into Office the shoe shop and try on a pair. I picked up a black pair but at the time I just didn't think they suited me, maybe it was the mirrors in the shop or maybe the trousers I was wearing were all wrong.
About 3 months later I was shopping again and had a sudden urge to go into Schuh and try on the Converse again but this time I liked them. I was wearing jeans this time and there is nothing these shoes go better with than jeans. This time I tried on the pink Converse first which I did like but they were a bit too bright for me at first and so I decided on black just to be safe and simple and I bought them.
For those of you who do not know what Converse shoes look like here is the description. They are like a canvas trainer but at the front there is a white rubber toe and surface. They lace up to the ankle. If that is not a great description to picture then wait until the end of the review where I will give a link for you to see them. Not everyone suits these shoes but most people do get away with them. They are targeted at a younger audience I would say because I usually see teenagers and anyone up to the age of 40 wear them but I have yet to see and OAP( old age pensioner) wear these but mabe when I am old I might be wearing them still though because they are so comfortable.
When you buy these they come in a thin rectangular box with converse all stars written on the side and the All Star logo. When buying them it is annoying because you have to lace these up which isn't easy and there are different ways to lace these up. On one foot I lace them up to the top but on the left foot I miss the last set of rings and tie just under that. They might have to be loosened when putting them on but once on you should feel like they are not going to fall off and they should just fit perfectly and not be too tight or too loose.
When buying these I tried the pink shoe on in a 7 which was big but it is my usual size however when I decided on black the lady said there were no 7's in stock but there were 6's. I asked to try on the 6 and to be honest with you these fit much better and were just perfect not loose although just a little room at the front of my foot so I could walk with comfort. On the tongue of the shoe behind it there is a sizing guide for UK sizing compared to US, EUR and Japan.
The history of the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star is that Chuck Taylor gave so much to basketball his name was put on the All Star logo in 1923. The shoe changed the game so much that it became a true icon in America.
The great thing about Converse is that even though so many people are wearing them there are different colours to keep the individuality. I have seen some people wearing Tartan converse there are also Graffiti converse. Blue, pink, black, red, white, the list could go on for ages. They do patterns and colours to keep modernising the shoe so that it is not the same old boring shoe. So many celebrities also wear this shoe making it fashionable. I have read so many interviews where people like Kirsten Dunst and Liv Tyler say they like designer but nothing is as comfy as their Converse.
These shoes are priced well and are not at all expensive. They cost £35 and although I have one pair I already have my eye on the pink ones. You can never have too many pairs. Also, even when these shoes are dirty and the white is not as white as it was when new it still looks fashionable and not like they need replaced.
