Advantages: stylist reasonably priced shoe
Disadvantages: white won't stay that way for long
My son got a pair of white high tops for his holidays. They are mostly white with red and blue trim on the rubber sole. While not my taste they are very smart. They cost about £40
Here's the sting. i got a little on holiday and spilt some red wine. The shoes got splashed. I did manage to get the wine out with a fair bit of elbow grease and they did clean up well.
And here's the problem. We soaked the shoes and the stains came out. Excellent.
When the shoes dried (the are made of canvas) a beige stain started to form from under the inner sole. Not having a washing machine on holiday we waited till we got home and washed them in the machine at a 30 degree wash.
Result, the marks were gone.
Until the canvas dried. The staining returned. We have now washed these about 5 times and while the stain is lightening each time it is still there so they can only be worn with long trousers. Over time the stain may dissapear but it is annoying.
I only post this as a matter of caution. I would advise the darker colours as you wont see the staining. and if your kids are like mine there's no such thing as pure white trainers!!
Summary: good make, just go for dark colours

- 08/08/09 I love my converse, well they're fake converse, but they are still lovely. Only problem is, I cannot walk over stones without pain and the shoes are just falling apart at the seems now. Can't find any like it anywhere now. :-( Good review. KIrsty x |
