Advantages: Great for scruffy days.
Disadvantages: Starting a collection that damages the pocket.
Converse (or Cons, as they're known on the street) just bring back nostalgia from my early teen years when they were the shoe of choice for every rocker/punk/emo kid in school.
They come in a range of colours (black, neon blue, purple, pink, white ... you get the idea) patterns, hi or low tops and even with a single or double tongue. There really isnt much Converse haven't created and they are still releasing new editions every year.
There have been colaborations with such artists such as ACDC, Pink Floyd and The Who. These limited editions are more expensive but definetly worth every penny.
They are stocked for Men, Women and Children, which means the whole family can be involved.
My personal favourite are a pair of apple green Chuck Taylor All Stars. Although worn down (which many would argue are the way Cons should be worn), they still look great and manage to, still after having them for 2 plus years to be as comfy as I first got them.
Another pair to watch out for are a grey Tweed version which are much warmer than normal Converse (which are basically a canvas and rubber mix) so they are ideal for Autumn/Winter.
A great place to purchase Converse would be online at cloggs.co.uk who do special discount deals now and again or Justconverse.co.uk which offers free shipping in the Uk. They are also available in shoe stores such as schuh and sole trader.
Summary: Buy Cons. Play In Cons. Love Cons.
