Advantages: Look nice, Not really any more expensive than other good brands
Disadvantages: wear out easily
I bought a pair of DKNY trainers a few months ago and found them really comfy and they looked great with most of my clothes, so when my husband booked a break in Rome, they were the first things to go in the suitcase. As we are all aware, Italians have STYLE and I decided that on my first day, I'd try to do the stylish but smugly comfortable thing -lovely jeans and nice looking trainers. Yup, it worked and we went sightseeing. The first couple of hours were great but then I felt my trainers rubbing my little toe. I thought that it was the new socks I was wearing as I had worn my trainers lots back home and had no problems. We sat down for coffee and I took a peek at what was going on. Blimey - there was a blister the whole length and width of the pad of my toe. As we were quite a way from our hotel, I had no choice but to put them back on and continue. By the time we got back to the hotel, I was in agony, I could hardly walk and the trainers were in a right state! The tread on the soles had all but gone and they looked about 10 years old. For the rest of the trip, I had to hobble about in my Saxone clogs,(A quarter of the price and a hundred times better), my toe covered in Compeed plasters. Now back home, I have to go and see the Nurse at my GP surgery as my blister popped and another one has grown underneath, and it has become infected. I feel like I've been ripped off, I didn't use these for working out, I had broken them in before hand with no problems, but a day walking around a City has caused my foot such a big problem. Maybe I should have just opted for comfortable and worn my 'workout' trainers.
