Advantages: multi spike makes them versatile, durability good

Disadvantages: Not as comfy or well performing as adidas or Asics spikes.

I had these previous to my adidas twenty 2yards lite cricket spikes. The main difference between the two boots is that GM make other cricketing equipment whereas adidas only make cricket spikes.

<>first impression<>
It is a very modern boot that feels sturdy and the spikes are well arranged to gain the maximum traction. There didn't seem to be that much comfort or padding inside and the insole felt fairly hard

<>comfort<>
When trying them on they do feel as though they will support your foot and ankle, however the heel is fairly hard and the laces tend to slip looser no matter how tight you do them up. When playing in them the hard heel digs into the back of your ankle and causes blister and cuts. The hard insole causes pains in the arch of your foot and the laces are very prone to loosening.

<>performance<>
The traction is very good with either full spike or half spike. I particularly like batting in them as they are quite bulky and take blows better than other boots. The spikes seem to stay in fairly well as well.

<>durability<>
I used them for 3/4 of a season and except getting dirty there were no durability problems at all. They seem very sturdy and will last until you grow out of them.

<>price<>
For around £30 they are one of the cheaper boots on the market and as the spikes can be interchanged form rubbers to spikes and vice versa they are fairly good value.

<>comparison to my adidas<>
This is where the spikes fall down. Although they are a good £20 cheaper than the adidas they do feel it. The adidas have 3 times as much padding and the champ spikes work so well in full or half spikes whilst batting, bowling or fielding. The climacool breathing keeps your foot very cool and so they always feel refreshing. The strap over the laces of the adidas is great and really supports the arch of your foot. The durability isn't a problem either.

<>overall<>
I know this may seem like an adidas review as well but i just wanted to compare spikes from a cricket manufacturer and spikes from just a spike manufacturer to show the real difference. In my eyes pay the £20 extra and go for adidas or Asics or something more specialised as the amount of time they are going to last you they are worth the extra money.

Summary: Go look for spikes elsewhere and be prepared to pay slightly more to look after your feet well.
