As someone who plays a lot of squash, I find that the humble sweatband is a must have for me in the midst of an epic sports battle. Because squash is played in a small enclosed room, things can heat up pretty quickly, and without decent ventilation (as is the case in many courts I've played on), it can at times be like playing in a microwave!

The sweatband helps prevent sweat from running down your arm onto your racket hand, and also functions as a sponge-like cloth which allows you to mop your brow. Therefore, absorbency is a decent quality in a sweatband, as is comfort and a lightweight nature. If you're an ungentlemanly type, you can always chuck your sweatband at your opponent, in the hope that it will put them off their stroke - although this technique is usually frowned upon.

Costing around £2.50 from sports shops, the Karakal Jumbo Sweatband is available in a range of colours. Made from cotton, Its oversized dimensions (about twice the length of a regular sweatband) means that it ultimately can hold more sweat (eww, gross!), and does a better job when it comes to wiping sweat off other parts of the body.

As a downside, this particular band is 'one size fits all', meaning that some larger wristed individuals may find it a little tight. My wrists are fairly thin, and even on me, after half an hour of play, it will start to get a wee bit small.

The material which the Karakal Jumbo Sweatband is made from is comfortable, and after you've worn it, you can chuck it in the wash. Even after many washes, the band is still nice and fluffy, and seems to have maintained its size without shrinking.

All in all I recommend this particular sweatband as an effective means of keeping dry on the squash court, tennis court, or whatever type of court you happen to be on - unless of course you're 'in court', in which case wearing a sweat band probably won't do you any favours.
