I wear these boots nearly every day for yard work and riding, and their benefits far outweigh any shortfalls. My horse isn't particularly careful about where she puts her feet, and I've no doubt that the steel toe-box in these boots (which meet the EU CE requirements (EN 345) for safety boots) have saved me from multiple x-rays and possible broken/fractured bones.
