When buying a pair of sport shoes this may sound simple but do do it. Most people don't bother. DO TRY THEM on not just for a day but DO TRY them on for a few days in use. I don't know of many places that will let you do this. But if you live near Nike Town in London or can get up there try them out. They do a fantastic 10 day policy. You can wear there shoes in for 10 days and if at the end it doesn't suit you, you can take them back. This is AMAZINGLY good. You get a REAL chance to see if they are really comfortable and not just for fashion. If you buy a pair of trainers and have the money try to be more specific. If you just ... Our Experience: My hubby, bless him, I love him to bits but he is a little overweight! He could do with losing a stone or three, which I am sure he wont mind me saying!! Ive been pestering him for ages to start some kind of exercise program. Now he is very well known for spending lots of money on something, using it once, and then burying it in the garage in the vein hope that it might take itself back to the shop for a refund! This includes a set of weights, a £500 12mth gym membership that he used four times, tracksuits, £800 treadmill - the list is endless. Anyway, this aside he approached me recently with that look in his eye - no not THAT look! He ... Read the complete review

The Brooks Addiction 4 is a smaller and lighter version of the classic 'heavy runner' shoe, the Brooks Beast. Although conventionally classed as a motion control shoe (ideal for runners who kick their heels outwards when they run), it's also very suitable for runners with no motion control problems. A Hydroflow ST system in the heel provides excellent rearfoot cushioning, and the shoe is so stable that it feels like nothing short of a force 10 gale could tip you sideways. The Addiction 4 thankfully has a lower arch support than its bigger brother - after trying on a pair of Beasts in the running shop, my foot arches ached for several days. ... Read the complete review

Having become fascinated by the 'air bubble' in my brand new trainers (at the tender age of ten) i instantly became tangled in an affair with Nike trainers. That first and ultimately final pair of the original Air Max style started me on a life long mission to wear only Nike footwear. Not only was the air bubble going to get me admiring stares from my peers at junior school, i felt as if i could do anything in them, like a new pair of football boots that 'make you play better'. Nike shoes are the most comfortable shoes on the market today, Reebok came clos with their DMX technology, however associates have since told me ... Read the complete review

Having started to run Marathons a few years ago, I was first introduced to the concept of spending £70+ on a pair of high mileage running shoes. A necessary evil, I thought, having previously only bought 20 quid bargains from my local sports store. But once I started to pound out the miles - 10, 12, 15, 18.... I realised that my Asics 2000 range trainers were a true investment. The Asics 2030s were the first pair I bought - beautiful fit, excellent fore and rear foot cushioning, very stable shoe. I was in love. A year down the line, 500+ miles and it was sadly time to replace my first love, so I duely moved to the following years version the 2040. An ... Read the complete review
