I'm gonna start off by saying i absolutely love my vans. The vans i wear are the 'widow' style not the little canvas ones. For the past 2 years these are all i've been wearing.

In my opinion, vans are one of the most comfiest shoes i've worn for a long time. They look really good although they can look wrong worn with the wrong type of clothes, lol. I do find that vans have many negative points but i'm so addicted to them that the negative points don't really matter to me and the positive far outweighs the negative.

I do find them quite expensive and for the past 3 pairs i've bought, they've cost me about £55 each. In the past 18 months i've managed to wear through 2 pairs and have just bought my 3rd ones. Now i do wear mine 99% of the time so that probably doesn't help with the wear and tear on them.

On the plus side, they look good, they're comfortable, not everyone is wearing them so you can show off your individuality and oh, did i mention how comfy they are, lol.

I would recommend vans to anyone that likes a bit of alternative clothing, i don't find them mainstream at all and tend to suit the baggy jeans wearers or the 'emo' type.

I do tend to buy my vans from the mens section because recently all the womens ones seem to have pink on them and i don't wear pink, lol.

Last year i also bought my then 9 yr old daughter a pair of the widow style vans after she begged me to get them her. The ones she had were black with pink and other coloured stars on them and they came with 2 different pairs of laces so she could have black ones or pink ones. Again they were a bit expensive at £35 but they did last her a while and she has only recently had to throw them away. She also found them very very comfortable and has been begging me for another pair ever since.

This review has been for the widow tyoe vans but there are so many different styles out there so if you're looking at buying a different kind of vans, do read the reviews cos if the other styles are as good as these ones then you're getting yourself a really great shoe
