Vans shoes really appeal to me as shoes that are comfortable, sturdy, have great grip and are good to look at. I own 2 pairs of Vans shoes, which i use when mountain biking, simply because of how stursy they are and how well they grip the pedals. They look really cool, and are widely reccomended by my friends, and anyone who has had a pair previously. Having said that, they can be pricey here in the UK, but retail outlets like "Soled Out" and various mail order places (advertised in BMX and Skate magazines) can offer a good price. The alternatives are Etnies, Airwalk, and No Fear which are sometimes cheaper, and can offer different advantages.

Good if you're prepaired to pay.
