Puma Essentials Racer Back Tank Top
by CosmicLove
I spotted this vest when I was on the sports direct website looking for new gym clothes. I decided to buy it because it looked quite nice in the pictures and it was quite cheap too.
I paid £6.50 for it and I think the full retail price is around the £15 mark which I think is way too much money for a vest! I definitely ... wouldn't pay the full price. When I bought my vest - about two months ago now there were a few different colour options, mainly bright ones and I chose plain old white as its a nice simple colour which goes with any outfit.
Unfortunately though the material isn't that thick and if I wear a dark bra/sports bra under it is slightly visible so I tend to either wear a white bra underneath or just zip my hoodie/jacket up so that I don't feel self conscious! It is very low cut too which I don't like because I feel like I'm going to 'fall out' of the top while I'm running so I am constantly re-adjusting it! The top has hidden support which is supposed to be like a built in sports bra but it is not very effective, personally I do not feel like I have any extra support at all and I still need to wear a sports bra.
The vest has got a racer back which I quite like but it does mean that part of the back of my sports bra is visible though so again, I tend to wear the vest under a hoodie. The vest has a stretchy, silky kind of material which feels quite tight and clingy when I'm wearing it which makes me feel self conscious as I have got a little weight to lose and I feel like it kind of highlights my belly as it clings to all my lumps & bumps.
It is very lightweight though and despite being tight fitting it is comfortable. I like that it is a little longer than an average length vest and it does not ride up while I am exercising. I have the vest in a size 12 which is my usual size but I think I'd have been better off with a 14 as I don't like how tight it is and would prefer it to be looser, however I think if I did get a bigger size it would completely hang down around the bust area as it is so low cut.
The vest is very versatile and I usually wear it with sweatpants and a hoodie when I am doing quite light exercise but when I am really going for it on the treadmill I will wear it with some Capri pants and this makes a really lightweight outfit which is easy to move around in and it does not restrict movement. I do prefer wearing a hoodie over it though because I just feel quite self conscious when I'm wearing it! I've had it for a couple of months now and I have washed it several times in the washing machine. I have found that it is still nice and smooth to the touch with no bobbling but it is starting to lose its shape slightly, so it is not amazing quality like you would expect from a vest with a retail price of £15.
Overall I am going to give this vest three out of five stars. It is lightweight and comfortable but it is a bit too clingy and low cut for my liking. Read the complete review |

Puma Essentials Long Tights
by topsyturvy
With going to the gym all of the time, I get fed up of wearing the same things when there so I decided it was time to buy some new things to wear at the gym. I had a look on a few websites but some of it can be quite pricey for what it is, that's why I thought of going onto sportsdirect.com as they have decent sports clothes for an ... alright price. I was looking for some long leggings and wasn't bothered about the brand but these are called tights as they are really fitted, I liked the idea of them though as they pull everything in and are made of the right kind of material. These Puma ones looked good and the price was great for them too so I had to order.
APPEARANCE
These tights come in black and have the Puma logo right at the top just on the top left thigh which is nice as not too flashy with the branding. These have a waistband and are very stretchy, I just went for my usual size 10 and they fit perfectly and they run from sizes 8 through to 18 which is really good. These tights are made with an elasticated waist which is good for working out and they are 88% polyester, 12% elastane and have a small internal key pocket which is handy and I didn't know about until looking on the website. These look good I don't think they would be as flattering on a bigger size but they do look fine if you can pull them off.
PUMA ESSENTIAL LONG TIGHTS
I couldn't wait to try these on when they arrived, delivery was quick and I was praying they wouldn't be ridiculously tight that I couldn't get them over my thighs. When pulling them on just roll up over the calf and they should slide up easily, they shouldn't be moving around much with creases or anything like that as they should be so tight to the leg, like skinny jeans. These literally fit like a glove and move with me which is great the fabric is for flexibility and USP moisture management technology works to keep sweat away and make these feel dry when on. I thought these were great on and made me look skinny right away, pulling everything in.
When on these are great whether you are running or on the gym machines, these feel like skin they are that comfortable on and so easy to move in. I love that the fabric is perfect for working out and even when sweating you don't notice so there is no awkward sweat patches as the fabric is absorbent and doesn't keep damp but dries right away. The waist isn't uncomfortable as being elasticated there is a bit of give, these go to the waist so they are not low and when sitting on the rowing machine, these don't slide down, they remain exactly where they were put on and I love this about them as it makes working out so much more easier.
A lot of women wear these at the gym and now I can see why, obviously I wash these regularly as they do get dirty even if you cannot see the sweat. These are machine washable and so I washed them on a hand wash option and this was quite delicate, I took them out to dry naturally and they were soft and thankfully didn't shrink. I was a bit apprehensive about washing these but they came out great and as good as new, fit exactly like before and came out great so that is always a perk. I like that these come in just black as it looks the best in this colour, you can stretch away in these tights and work out with ease while still looking good in them and feeling confident.
I can't recommend these enough, I got them for a bargain price and the sizing is good on these. Puma are a good brand and these are a lot cheaper than the likes of Adidas and Nike and look exactly the same and do the same thing. I enjoy working out as I feel I look as fashionable as you can in gym clothes but these just makes it easier to move and my performance is better since having these. I can move faster on the cross trainer and cycle quicker on the bike which is good as nothing is restricting my leg movement. I will probably buy another pair of these just to make it easier and save me washing all of the time, thoroughly recommend them.
COST
You can buy these tights in a Sports Direct shop or on their website where they are on offer and will cost you £14 instead of their RRP of £17.99 which is good enough for me and all sizes are in stock online.
