Even though it's not one of my new year's solutions to be exercising frequently, it's always a good idea to keep fit. These days I have a high work load so I don't have that much time to go to the gym. However, as a result, I tend to do exercises that I can do at home. I do cardio and muscle strengthening activities and just recently, I've taken a new step into the world of yoga. Even though I don't go the gym, I tend to sweat a lot and after awhile I start to feel a bit uncomfortable to continue working out in sweaty clothes. Therefore, I decided to get proper exercise clothing rather than using old tees and shorts.
To be honest, I'm not really fuss about the brand of sports clothing I buy. When I was browsing for good sports clothing, these Adidas response running women t-shirt were on sale for around £10 (they were originally over £20 I believe, since they were advertised as better than half price). So, I decided to try this out. £10-ish for a sports t-shirt seems pretty reasonable.
These response short sleeve t-shirts come in a choice of colours from turquoise, white and pink. Sizes are available from 8 to 16 I believe, larger sizes may be available but I didn't see them when I purchased mine. The sale pitch of these t-shirts is that they are manufactured using the CLIMACOOL technology, which helps to balance the heat produced during work out and makes the experience more comformtable. They're made with 100% polyester, which I personally prefer when it comes to work out clothing since it doesn't become saturated with sweat during rigorous exercises. Also, the thickness of the material is perfect for indoor work outs, although I think it might be a bit thin for outdoor activities.
Technically, as the name suggests these are made for running. However, due to the cold weather, I haven't been out running for a while now. Nevertheless, this t-shirt is great for indoor work outs. The material is good at diffusing the heat and keeping the body temperature balanced between work outs so that I don't get a cold spell during intervals. They're easy to wash, which is always a plus.
Overall, these t-shirts serve their purposes at a good price. What more can you ask for?
Thank you for reading and reviewing. :) x
One of the sports shirts I have for when I play sports, most notably netball and tennis is this nice t-shirt from Adidas. I have a lot of Nike stuff but I also have a pair of Adidas running trousers so when I wear these I like to wear an Adidas top. Call me funny but I do not like to mix my labels even when it comes to sports gear. Imagine if I was a professional sports women and was sponsored by Adidas, they would not like it if I had on Adidas trousers and a NIke shirt, ha ha!
Anyway, I would call this more of a sports shirt than a t-shirt though as its made of polyester not cotton like most regular t-shirts are. The polyester material clings to your body but I think it gives you definition rather than clinging to all your bad parts. I find this t-shirr fits well and is a bit form fitting, especially as it comes in around the waist and gives you a bit of movement too which is great when you are playing sports. Apparently it has a ForMotion engineering which is something that Adidas champion which they say allows you the perfect freedom to move. I definitely find that this t-shirt moves with me when I jump and bend and does not ride up or get twisted like a regular t-shirt would so in terms of being good for sports this t-shirt definitely fits the bill.
I got mine in a light pink colour but I think you can get them in other colours, possibly blue and white although I am not certain. The pink is nice and striking and stands out and looks good against my black trousers. The next is quite small so you do have to pull this over you head to get it on. I would recommend doing your hair after you put this top on as I always pull mine back in a ponytail for sports but if you have it in a ponytail already pulling this over your head will ruin your hair so you do need to do it afterwards. THe neckline has a slight v to it so it is not completely tight around your neck which I would not like.
The t-shirt has the famous three Adidas stripes on the arms which are short sleeve. The polyester material is the breathable material that you get on most sports tops and I do find that I stay nice and cool in this top and it does not make me sweat which is nice.
All in all a great shirt to play sports in. I picked mine up for £20 in our local Sports Direct shop and I definitely think it was a good buy.
Climalite is a wonderful invention - a soft, lightweight fabric used by Adidas in their sports clothing and designed to let you work up a proper sweat without feeling awfully wet and uncomfortable. The way the fabric is made ensures that your skin can breathe and perspire properly and allows air in to the skin through the mesh-like layer to aid moisture and ventilation.
I own 3 of these short sleeved women's t-shirts in blue, white and pink, they are an absolute essential basic in my work out wardrobe and are so comfortable and robust that I wear them frequently for zumba, running and aerobics workouts. I bought the first one from JJB sports (who stock them in a range of colours and sizes) for £19.99 during their Christmas sale and loved it so much I almost immediately started shopping around for some more.
I quickly discovered that because this is quite a staple from the Adidas range many places stock it, including online stores. Debenhams frequently have these in their sales and Amazon marketplace is a great place to find them also, I have paid £15.99 and £14.99 for my other two so it goes to show that it is well worth shopping around!
These are hard wearing shirts and despite frequent washing and wearing they all have maintained shape and colour and the fabric is as good as new. These are washing machine friendly and made of polyester so they dry very quickly when washed, which is always a benefit.
My only minor quibble with this range is that they only seem to make it in sizes up to a UK 14, luckily this is ok for me but I do feel this is a bit poor when the average UK woman is a size 14/16. In this day and age you would expect major brands like Adidas to support larger women's sizes and this is a bit of a let down.
Aside from this and if they stock your size then these are fab to work out in and highly recommended.
==Adidas response Running T-Shirt==
After living in Himselfs old baggy football t-shirt for a good many months of my start up into running I decided it was time I got myself some some female tops which would fit me better and not be an off white grey type colour. I knew I wanted something similar to what I was wearing already because it was cool and comfortable so a trip to Sports Direct and it wasn't long before I found this Adidas response Running T-shirt which was the female version of what I had been wearing as a case off from Himself.
One thing that did disappoint me was the fact that there seemed to only be a v-neck option and I am not usually one who wears v-necks especially when the t-shirts are smaller and tighter with a close to the neck v neckline but as it was at an affordable price of £16.99 for a named brand made of a material I knew was cooling and ideal for running I decided to buy it anyway.
There were a few choices of colours but I stuck to getting a white one which had the classic Adidas stripes down the short sleeves and the Adidas logo on the breast. I was a size 10 at the time of purchase and a big pregnancy lump at the moment, but I went a size higher to give it a little bit more room and comfort which the 12 seemed to offer. I was used to wearing a medium sized man's t-shirt so the 12 was still a lot smaller in length and tighter all over the body.
The lightweight breathable material is something which really can't be beaten and since wearing these tops I really wouldn't look back. I had to wear a regular cotton t-shirt once when I was being a bit slack on the washing and I couldn't believe how hot and heavy it felt on me and I certainly wouldn't be doing that again. The t-shirt material is said to manage the bodies moisture and work well and ventilating the area which get sweatier quicker and I can honestly say that it really does do what it claims.
Of course I still get really hot and sweaty but not in an uncomfortable way and when wearing this Adidas Response t-shirt I feel like I am almost running naked (urgh the images!) To feel to cool and literally like my skin can breath easier is a good feeling when you are working flat out and every part of my body is hot and red.
I think for the money this t-shirt was certainly worth it. I still don't like the v-neck and think it would look much better were it to be a regular rounded neck but really that is the only downside I can see. The t-shirt has washed up well although you shouldn't use fabric conditioner when washing this type of clothing but seeing as I always try to wash all my running wear together this is easily done.
I think it has to be a top score of 5 out of 5 stars and a very high recommendation for this t-shirt!
I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you
Many thanks for taking the time to read.
I wrote several reviews on my sports gear since I started to jog and swim every day. Now, as the weather is not so nice warm in the evenings I had to do some research on autumn and winter jogging gear. I used to wear a cotton T-shirt over my sports bra. Then I put on a further layer of cotton T-shirt but still felt cold on my back. I jog 3-4 miles depending on how tired I am by the evening. After 12-15 minutes I start to perspire and soon the back of my cotton T-shirt becomes wet and cold. I read that I have to change the first layer from normal cotton gear to a special material which keeps the perspiration away from my body. There is a very wide range of these kinds of sports gear but I decided to choose from Adidas's range as my running tights is Adidas too and I am completely satisfied with it.
The running tee
I checked the available tees on Adidas's online shop (www.shop.adidas.co.uk) and decided to buy a short sleeve white tee with V-neck. The tee is available in sizes 8-16, mine is a size 12. The size is about average and the tee is close fit. The tee is quite transparent to be honest but I put on a jacket too so I don't mind. It has an interesting cut as its back is slightly longer than the front. It came in a transparent plastic bag which was put into a cardboard box. It cost 17 pounds plus 4.95 P&P. There is 7% cashback available from Adidas shop so it is worth checking it on Money Saving Expert's site.
Ventilated ClimaCool material keeps the body dry and comfortable. When you touch this material it feels like swimwear material however it has different structure as it is doubleknit. The material is quite stretchy but not as much as the techfit or swimwear. You can definitely feel that it is 100% polyester. If you had previously bad experience with polyester it will be hard to believe that this will work perfectly but it does. I perspired the same way as previously but I had no cold feeling on my back at all.
ForMotion cut actively supports the muscles for improved comfort and efficiency. When you put on this tee you feel that it quite close fit. The reason of this close fit is to support your muscles while jogging. It is comfortable and after a few seconds you forget you wear anything as it is like a second skin.
V-neck highlights women's chest so you look good even when out for jogging. The V-neck is not very deep so this tee is not for show off.
There are 3 black stripes on both sleeves, a silver Adidas logo on the left just above my breast and a silver Formotion label at my right hip. The material of the tee is different under the arms (not on the sleeves) it is like a mesh to provide better ventilation at the place where most of the perspiration occurs. I have to admit that I have to wash it after all the uses because otherwise it is stinky...
The label of the tee says that is can be washed at 30 degrees with detergent but you mustn't use fabric softener or any other additives. After washing it the smell of perspiration disappears completely not like from old polyester fabrics. I washed it loads of times and it is still sparkling white and looks like new. I have it for about 6 weeks. It keeps its shape very well and it dries very quickly. Once I washed an hour before I went jogging and put out in the garden on a hanger in the hope that the breeze will dry it. While I bathed the kids my tee was dry and I could wear it.
Keeps heat and perspiration under control, I don't feel cold on my back. Looks good and is comfortable. It is easy to keep it clean and keeps its shape well. It dries quickly.
It is quite transparent so I don't dare to wear it without a jacket but this is maybe only me. It was available only in white.
I think Adidas has very good sports gears and I trust this German brand. Their products are not cheap - I admit - but they last very long as they are premium quality. This tee was made in Indonesia and I found it well cut and comfortable. It really works like second skin. It solved my problem of feeling cold on my back when jogging in cool weather.
It is worth washing it after all joggings to keep it clean and smell nice. Don't forget that only detergent is allowed! I am really glad that I have chosen this tee and I recommend it for joggers for the autumn and winter.
