A great pair of everyday jodhpurs

When it comes to riding my horses I do prefer to wear breeches it is just personal preference nothing more and nothing less. A lot of people don't like breeches and prefer jodhpurs it is all simply what you feel comfortable in. For general yard wear and whether I am exercising the horses from the ground I tend to wear jodhpurs or whatever I can reach in my airing cupboard. But like breeches jodhpurs are ideal to be worn when riding I just find them very comfortable to do general yard work but again I like a bit of comfort when wearing a pair of jodhpurs.

Currently I own around four pairs of Harry Hall Atlanta Jodhpurs not only because they are incredibly comfortable but they won't break the bank either. Harry Hall is a brand in the equestrian world which offers clothing for men, women and children both for casual wear and ridden wear. They are also made to fit within a budget, they are not the cheapest you will find on the market but they still carry budget friendly prices and 99.9% of the time their items are worth every penny and as I have been wearing their items for years and years must stand for something.

Harry Hall have a wide range of jodhpurs but I prefer the Atlanta style simply because they are so comfortable to wear. They are a traditional styled jodhpur and are made with 95% cotton and 5% spandex making them very soft to the touch and very soft to actually wear. I do find them incredibly stretchy but they manage to retain their shape when washed which is a plus. I currently have the navy, burgundy check, olive check and baby blue varieties and all have been exactly the same in terms of fit and comfortableness.

To look at the Atlanta Jodhpurs have a synthetic suede knee patch which are always colour co-ordinated with the main colour of the jodhpurs. For added comfort they have been designed to be shaped at the hip to offer a great fit for everyone. I personally find these high waisted but they fit nicely around the waist and offer a snug fit - this is of course if you buy the correct size. They do have belt loops also should you want to wear a belt to get a better fit. Personally, I find that because these are quite high waisted anyway that I don't need to use a belt.

They have a small zip at the front which is concealed to keep a neat appearance and they further fasten with a brass type fastening just above the zip which features the Harry Hall logo. To add to the design of the jodhpurs there is a small pocket on the inside of the jodhpurs which is ideal for keeping money and just large enough for a phone. Personally I do find this useful when around the yard as I can keep my phone on me but it doesn't have a zip to it so you do need to be careful if you keep money or your phone in there as I have had plenty of times where my phone has fallen to the floor!

I have ridden in these and they have been extremely comfortable and definitely not restrictive around the waist which I did think they may be as they are high waisted but the material is so soft that they give a lot of freedom to the movement you make when riding. Harry Hall recommend that these can be used in the show ground or at home and I would definitely agree as they certainly do serve a purpose. For me, they don't make them in white so I use this solely for home use and mainly when I am not riding as I find them far comfier doing yard work in them than in a pair of breeches.

Overall, these are a lovely pair of jods which really are a pleasure to wear. They don't cause any discomfort, the material is incredibly soft and flexible which makes day to day wear enjoyable. They are one of Harry Hall's best selling jodhpurs and I can definitely see why. They have been going for years and are still available due to their popularity. Definitely a decent pair of jodhpurs which will certainly last for quite a while. Highly recommended from me and I give them 5 stars.
