      excellent base layer

When participating in exercise it is important to be comfortable. You can exercise in any loose fitting clothing, but to be more comfortable it is better to purchase proper gear which is designed for the purpose. Cotton is comfortable, but when you sweat it becomes heavy and not very nice to wear. Clothes which wick sweat away from your body and allow it to evaporate are much better. Helly Hansen base layers are made from wicking material and are especially designed for athletes. They do this by the use of Lifa Stay Dry technology and really help to keep you dry and warm. They have flat locked seams which means that they do not rub on your body leading to less chafing and even more comfort. These base layers are extremely comfortable to wear and look good. They are available in a variety of colours and styles. You can also get ones with thumb cuffs which help to keep your hands warm. They wash well at 30 degrees, but don't put fabric conditioner in the wash because this can stop the wicking properties of the fabric from working properly. The tumble drier is not the place for these items either. They do dry really quickly though when they are just hung up and allowed to dry naturally. Having used these for a while now, I have been very impressed with them and can highly recommend them to other people looking for a good base layer for the colder months. They can be purchased in lots of places and you should expect to pay around £25 although they can be found cheaper if you shop around.
