*LA Gear Bra Crop Top*
I purchased the LA Gear bra crop top as part of a shopping spree for sports kit, from Sports Direct. Mine is navy, but it is also available in white. This crop top can be worn during many sports, fitness classes, running etc.
The bra crop top can be worn in place of a top and a bra, but it may not provide enough support on its own for those with a larger chest. It is fine for me, as a C cup, and is very comfortable. I can barely feel that I am wearing it, the material is so soft, its is great! The size is advertised by clothes and not bra size, so it would be best to try one on before purchase if possible.
The crop top has a 1in elasticated waistband, which is just tight enough that it doesn't move, but not too tight. The seams are soft and not at all noticeable and there is a breathable mesh panel to the back, which helps keep you cool, and the crop top does keep my nice and cool and absorb any sweat. The straps are an inch thick with a white seam around the front. There is a silver reflective LA Gear logo on the chest.
The crop top is made of 93% polyester and 7% elastane, with the mesh back being made of 94% polyester and 6% elastane. It is machine washable at 40C and can be ironed on low heat, though I have never felt the need to iron it. I have washed mine many times and it still looks like new. Due to the fact that the material is quite thin, and the high polyester content, it dries very quickly.
I only tend to wear this crop top outside if I am going to run somewhere where nobody will see me, which is easy as I live in the middle of nowhere most of the year, or if I am doing a fitness DVD. This is just because I don't want people looking at my stomach! It is so comfortable though that I wear it in place of a sports bra under my t-shirt sometimes. If you have the confidence,it is great to wear it anywhere.
The RRP for the LA Gear bra crop top is £14.99 but it is currently on sale for a fantastic £2.49 at Sports direct stores and online at www.sportsdirect.com. 5 stars!
I needed a reasonably cheap crop top with some chest support for low impact sports such as cycling and hill walking, something which would give me a bit of comfort and be breathable. I went for the LA Gear Bra Crop Top purely because I liked the look of it and I found it for a brilliant price in my local Sports Soccer. Here's my review based on 18 months' ownership.
**Price and Availability**
The LA Gear Bra Crop Top is available on the high street most notably at Sports Soccer where I purchased it in the sale for an incredible £2.99. The average price seems to be £3 - £7 which is fair for a sport bra top.
It's a typical sport bra top style with a closed racer style back exposing the shoulders, scoop neck (not too low) on the front with the LA logo stitched onto the fabric and low under arm holes for comfort. It looks pretty good and this is something you can wear alone or under another item of keep fit clothing such as a sport vest.
It's available in white or black, I went for the black as I felt it wouldn't age as quickly by greying over time in the wash. I'm glad I made that decision as 18 months on after considerable use it's as new.
I'd say the support the LA Gear Bra Crop Top provides is classed as light and is best suitable for minimal impact sports, I use it for cycling, hill walking, aerobics and skipping. You could also use it for spin class, yoga etc. I find it very comfortable and it has a good feel to it, letting the skin breathe and not get over sweaty, maintaining comfort and reducing any irritation.
Yes, I'd highly recommend the LA Gear Bra Crop Top, especially for the price, why pay more when it works so well? In fact at that price you could buy one of each colour, use them for travel, carry a spare and so on. I used mine during pregnancy to provide a little more comfortable support before I needed to start using a maternity bra, so it's certainly had a number of varied uses for me!
I'll give the LA Gear Bra Crop Top a solid four out of five - if you were doing something more high impact like jogging, tennis and so on you'll need something with more support (and likely need to spend a little more) however as a budget sport bra top which is a good all rounder I highly recommend the LA Gear Bra Crop Top especially if you can get it around £3!
After having my daughter I remember having a personality transplant - determined to exercise and keep fit and lose all the baby fat I was carrying around. I went out and bought all kinds of fitness gear, DVDs, trainers you name it and boy was I on a mission! However, it lasted about 6 months and when I went back to uni i found absolutely no time to exercise. Then this year, when I realised the belly was making a comeback (yet I had no new baby!) I decided to start joining a gym and plan to keep fit, so I whipped out this top again. From time to time, however, it enjoys periods of collecting dust along with my running shoes and gym leggings but no doubt I am sure it will be used on/off until the end of time!
The top is black made from polyester and elastane so allowing it to be really stretchy and able to adapt to various boob cup sizes. Accompanied with an elasticated trim at the bottom this is allows it to be really easy to put on and sit snugly around my bust and chest without digging in or being too baggy. It is designed with a mesh, breathable panel of material in the back so as the top doesn't feel to hot during and after a hot and sweaty work out, but at the same time that pre-exercising it is not too thin so that I will get a cold in my back - striking a perfect balance.
In terms of support this crop top really is perfect and solves a lot of problems some of us ladies have when exercising! I am not the bustiest of women, but at the same time I have no flat chest either. I remember one time doing my Pussycat dolls fitness DVD with just an average bra on = epic fail. Boobs flying everywhere, and hurting my chest is not going to inspire me to want to do a vigorous work out! This crop top is extremely supportive and I can literally jump up and down and run on a treadmill with absolute freedom and no pain - so it completely serves the purpose of what I need it to do ie. give rigorous support and still make for a comfortable fitting and breathable sports top.
The crop top is easy to wash as I have put it in the washing machine on 30 degrees and it has maintained it's shape and not faded in colour which is brilliant. It only costs a mere £3.49 from Sports Direct so for me this is an absolute steal. It is really good quality, and whilst some people may be all about the name, it does just as good a job for me than if I were to pay more for a Nike branded one. Overall I would totally recommend this top and give it a lovely 5 stars!
For the princely sum of £3.49 in Sports Direct this was a great purchase as in the past I have paid considerably more for such garments and with this one I get all of the support that I need and I'm ggald that I took the opportunity to buy two of them as I would be kicking myself now if I had missed out on such a great bargain.
It is black in colour and made friom a combination of polyester and elastane, after a number of machine washes I have been impressed with how it has maintained its shape and elasticity and there has been no fading of colour with this product either. The back portion has a mesh like material which allows your skin to breath
The support that this crop top provides is excellent, I'm not large breasted, quite petite actually but I do like to make sure that I have a lot of support when working out and I like to have a decent amount of cover as well as I use a mixed gym and this crop top certainly meets my needs, it could be worn on its own up top however I tend to team it with a tight top to provide some more cover and to absorb any sweat as well. It is certainly a snug fit and very comfortable, even on long work out sessions which combine cardio with weights there is no rubbing and it is comfortable throughout, even very tough dance sessions with lots of movement and stretching do not represent any problems.
The chest area is double layered for extra support. I have the size 8 which is the smallest they do and it goes up to dress size 18. For me this has been a great purchase and an absolute bargain. The black colour is nice and dark and there has been no loss of performance even after washing.
This year I have turned my life around in a number of areas. The main area where I have changed drastically is my love of the gym. In the past I have loathed the gym and thought up a plethora of ways to get out of going to the gym, despite working one minutes walk away. Now I love going to the gym and find myself regularly going on my days off, even if I only have one day off that week. I have lost a considerable amount of weight with a little way left to go and I am loving my fitness and my life in general at the moment.
Because I have dropped several dress sizes I have been in need of new fitness wear on more than one occasion now and thanks to my regular visits I am always looking for something reasonably priced that will avoid me having to run the washing machine before I have a full load just to wash my gym wear.
A crop top is something that I actually wear underneath a vest top when I am at the gym just to ensure that I have lots of support and that everything is kept where it should be on my chest area. Because I run, row and do general cardio in the gym I like to know that I have supportive clothes on and that I don't have to worry about accidentally exposing myself in front of the other women at the gym (well not until we hit the changing rooms at least!).
This crop top is black and it has an elasticated bottom making it flexible and bendable when I am working out in the gym. It is made from a mixture of polyester and elastane (7%) so it is stretchable and it should be fairly long lasting too - well so far so good for mine! There is a mesh panel in the back making the fabric nice and breathable but this doesn't irritate my skin at all. It looks functional and it is simple to slip on over my head when I am in the gym. I don't struggle to get back out of it either but then mine is becoming a little loose now because I've had it for a couple of months so it is probably time to think about getting another smaller size to provide me with the correct support.
Unlike most sports bras that I have brought in the past this comes in dress size not bra size and so I had to work out what would be the ideal size for me as despite my recent weight loss I have still got quite a large chest (lucky me I guess...?!) but eventually I went one size smaller than the majority of my T-shirts I have been wearing currently and this was perfect for me initially.
Putting on this crop top takes me just a few seconds and I feel confident and comfortable when wearing it. I have no worries about anything bad happening while I am jogging or taking part in other cardio. The material feels stretchy and yet supportive for me regardless of the activity that I am par-taking in and I feel very well supported in general thanks to this top. My chest in particular felt supported and I did not have to worry about my chest bouncing up and down (sorry!) and giving me back ache or just general soreness.
This crop top is very simple to take care of to. It is machine washable and the size stays good and the elastic stays flexible and strong too despite numerous washes. I wash this every single time I wear it at the gym as I like to keep clean and hygienic. It has kept its shape very well and it has not discoloured or become bobbled at all. The only thing I would say is that the elastic has started to roll up a little bit now when not in use but this is always smoothed back out when I am wearing this crop top.
In all I think this crop top is actually worthy of 5 out of 5 stars. It may be a little frustrating how the elastic has started to turn up now but then this has given me several months of usage once or twice per week (I use others on my other gym days of course) and it still has some life left in it yet. This has stayed well looked after as I have washed it in the netting bag with all my other bras so it hasn't snagged on anything and I always leave it to dry naturally and re-shape it while it is on the airing horse. I paid just £4.00 for this crop top from Sports Direct, where I get lots of my gym wear, and it is available at least to a size 18 (what I saw up to in the shop) so it is a bargain, even for larger chested ladies. I have been pleased with the quality of this crop top, the price and how comfortable it is too.
I have been going to the gym for a while and have had a number of different sports bras but I find that you can pay so much for them and they aren't always any better than any other cheaper brands. I decided that while I was shopping on a budget that I'd go into my local brand of Sports Direct to see what offers they had on sports bras. I went upstairs and found a whole rail of bras some Nike ones at £18 and some unknown but I saw this LA Gear crop top, a brand I have heard of and the price was too good to pass.
This sports bra is a crop top it is black in colour, the one I got and on the front has the LA Gear logo. The bra is 93% polyester and 7% elastane and it has an elasticated band at the bottom to make it stretchy. The reverse of it has a mesh like material on the back and is double fabric on the front for extra support. It comes in normal dress sizes not bra sizes so you just have to try it before buying. The bra is sort of split into panels, I think to just help with supporting your upper body while working out.
LA GEAR BRA CROP TOP
Now, this bra was a bit tight at first to get on but I wanted it to be this way as I wanted it to support me, noone wants a loose bra. The material is very comfortable on and I like this and althougt you can feel it on as it is racerback style it isn't uncomfortable. The mesh panel at the back is breathable and when you are getting hot, this is just to help you not feet too sweaty and let skin breathe. The elasticated band is great while putting this on as it helps but securely keeps it on at the chest.
As soon as I bought my sports bra, I felt ready to take on the gym and with confidence at that. I felt on the treadmill and things where you are moving more this seemed to support me very well, I was still sweating but I felt I wasn't jumping around so much and felt more put together and confident. This bra did stay put and it kept my chest upright as well as giving a good shape still without completely making me look flat. I could run and knew the double layered chest area was keeping me supported.
This bra is machine washable which is what I'd expect and after the first wash it didn't really shrink at all. I put it on a normal wash as it states and it did seem to all roll up with the elasticated band not keeping it as flat as it was when I bought it. That is the only annoying thing since buying this the elasticated bit keeps twisting and so you have to flatten it out before putting the bra on or you will have an uneven line under your clothes if you don't sort it but for the price paid I can't complain.
I do think this bra is good for the price paid, it isn't fancy but it does the job which is what I wanted. The bra has gone ever so slightly bobbly after me having washed it quite a number of times now but to be honest if it looks that bad for the price, just go out and buy another one, it might be more worth your while. This is a great bra for supporting me at the gym and it has still kept black and hasn't faded which I will give it and the logo hasn't faded from the front either.
This bra is available online or in all stores of Sports Direct ranging from sizes 8-18 and in sizes black, charcoal marl, grey marl and white for just £4!
