So what are Reactor Pants?
Reactor pants are a mid layer fleece 'jogging' type trousers. Ideal as a mid layer or for just lounging around.
These trousers are made from Polartec Classic 100 polyester micro fleece.
The waist is elastic and has an added drawcord to make sure they are confortable and secure.
They weigh just 284g.
The legs are straight with no elastic around the ankles.
The trosuers have 2 side pockets and 1 zip pocket for small items on the back.
The trousers come in sizes from Extra Small to Extra Large.
If you don't like black these are not for you as they only come in one colour - Black.
£45 rrp but shop around I've seen them online for £25.
I bought my first pair of these 8 years agao and still have them today all be it the fleece is getting quite thin they are still OK to wear. I've since bought another 2 pairs as I love them so much.
Although they look like just a normal pair of jogging bottoms the fact that they are fleece makes them warm and they also dry very quickly when you get them wet. I find them quite light to wear so are ideal under a pair of waterproof trousers. I often wear them when I am sea kayaking or open boating under my waterproofs so at the end of the trip I can take the waterproofs off and be let wearing an acceptable pair of trousers!!
I love an elastic waist, nice and comfortable and the drawstring offers that extra security.
I find these quite light to wear though they do still keep you warm.
I find the legs quite long and as there is no elastic they do sometimes get dragged on the ground. The original trousers I bought had elastic which prevented this, shame they changed the design.
The pockets are adequate, all you really need is one zipped pocket for your keys or some cash.
I've got the extra large trousers and they are plenty big enough, large were just too small!
Whatever your outdoor activity these trousers will fit the bill. I love how quickly they dry when wet especially on expeditions when clothing is at a minimum. Fleece trousers just feel great even when all you are doing is sitting in front of the TV or computer as I am now.
