I spotted this vest when I was on the sports direct website looking for new gym clothes. I decided to buy it because it looked quite nice in the pictures and it was quite cheap too.
I paid £6.50 for it and I think the full retail price is around the £15 mark which I think is way too much money for a vest! I definitely wouldn't pay the full price. When I bought my vest - about two months ago now there were a few different colour options, mainly bright ones and I chose plain old white as its a nice simple colour which goes with any outfit.
Unfortunately though the material isn't that thick and if I wear a dark bra/sports bra under it is slightly visible so I tend to either wear a white bra underneath or just zip my hoodie/jacket up so that I don't feel self conscious! It is very low cut too which I don't like because I feel like I'm going to 'fall out' of the top while I'm running so I am constantly re-adjusting it! The top has hidden support which is supposed to be like a built in sports bra but it is not very effective, personally I do not feel like I have any extra support at all and I still need to wear a sports bra.
The vest has got a racer back which I quite like but it does mean that part of the back of my sports bra is visible though so again, I tend to wear the vest under a hoodie. The vest has a stretchy, silky kind of material which feels quite tight and clingy when I'm wearing it which makes me feel self conscious as I have got a little weight to lose and I feel like it kind of highlights my belly as it clings to all my lumps & bumps.
It is very lightweight though and despite being tight fitting it is comfortable. I like that it is a little longer than an average length vest and it does not ride up while I am exercising. I have the vest in a size 12 which is my usual size but I think I'd have been better off with a 14 as I don't like how tight it is and would prefer it to be looser, however I think if I did get a bigger size it would completely hang down around the bust area as it is so low cut.
The vest is very versatile and I usually wear it with sweatpants and a hoodie when I am doing quite light exercise but when I am really going for it on the treadmill I will wear it with some Capri pants and this makes a really lightweight outfit which is easy to move around in and it does not restrict movement. I do prefer wearing a hoodie over it though because I just feel quite self conscious when I'm wearing it! I've had it for a couple of months now and I have washed it several times in the washing machine. I have found that it is still nice and smooth to the touch with no bobbling but it is starting to lose its shape slightly, so it is not amazing quality like you would expect from a vest with a retail price of £15.
Overall I am going to give this vest three out of five stars. It is lightweight and comfortable but it is a bit too clingy and low cut for my liking.
I like to feel good when I'm at the gym and to do that I like to have tops which are nice on and comfortable. I really like a racer back style as my sports bra is this way so it matches and it looks good. It is good for working out and Puma have a few different colours in their racer back style tank top. I went for black as with my black tights (see my reviews) this looked good as a whole outfit. Again, as with my tights, I went to Sports Direct's website and got this top for a great price. It is made of the same material as my gym tights which is what is great so my whole outfit makes it a lot easier to move at the gym and get my work out done at a great performance.
This racer bank top is made of a stretch fit fabric to make movement easier along with Power Cell moisture wicking technology to take the moisture of skin and keep you dry. This comes in either black or violet, both are really nice but I went for black to make it match my bottoms. These go in sizes 8-18 but the website doesn't have all of these in stock, the fit is great on this top and it fits perfectly, really close to the skin and fitted but the stretch in it makes it so easy to put on. On the left side of the chest is the small Puma logo which is nice and subtly and it has a nice round neckline which is great for working out and looks really nice on.
PUMA ESSENTIALS RACER BANK TANK TOP
This top is easy to put on it has so much stretch to it, I went for a size 10 just so it wasn't so tight as I'm normally an 8 but like to be able to move at the gym. The material is quite clingy, I will say that but it also pulls everything in to make you look great and this is what I like the most. The racer back style is very comfortable on as no straps are in your way when working out and it is made of 89% polyester, 11% elastane and is machine washable too. Now, when wearing this is pulls down and lies just at my hips so it is a bit longer but I like this as I don't want to wear a top that is too short to the gym or I feel uncomfortable in it.
When I went to the gym in this I was on all of my usual machines but when on the treadmill and on the rowing machine this top keeps riding up. I don't like my back hanging out and it goes up a lot so I keep having to pull it down, it must be the fact that it is a stretchy material. It's ashame as other than that it is great on and it feels so comfortable on and keeps dry through out my workout that I really cannot fault it apart from this. I think it looks great on, it is fashionable as well as practical. The fact that this doesn't get wet is great as it is the right fabric whereas when wearing cotton tops to the gym they get worn and bobbly and this top saves this from happening.
I find this top so easy to wash as well, it can be put on a handwash option which is so light and then it dries so quickly when hung up and it comes out looking just as it did before. This material is great, it doesn't shrink but never tumble dry it as it would shrink, it comes up very good quality, ready to wear all over again. I have washed this several times and it still looks exactly as it did when I bought it which I love. I am glad I went for a size 10 as this fits well as it is and it gives me more movement. When doing upper body work outs this moves with my and helps me to be free with my movement which is exactly what I wanted.
I think this top looks great on, so comfortable and easy to move in and Puma have made another great gym item. I think this would suit most figures and for the price it is a bargain as it keeps me dry when working out and feeling good in myself. This top is suitable for women of all ages and the fact there is more than one colour to choose from makes it even better. I like this that much that I would probably get it in another colour, the fact it rides up on some machines doesn't make me hate it and I still wear it all of the time as probably most tops will do this unless they are cotton so it isn't a problem at all and I think this is lovely.
This can be bought in store at Sports Direct or on their official website where you can buy this for £11 instead of its RRP of £14.99 which is brilliant to me.
The website only have this in sizes 12-18 at the moment.
The official Puma website is http://www.puma.com/.
