I wore it with pride.
Another thing I can tick off my list, went to the Olympics, bought the t-shirt, literally!!
Last year I was lucky enough to attend three different days of Olympic events with my husband at the London 2012 Olympics. We went to the men's basketball, a football match at Wembley and the ladies weightlifting, all of which were an amazing experience. At the first day of events we went to seethe basketball at the Earls Court and they had a few stands there selling lots of London 2012 merchandise. My husband an I really decided to get into the spirit of things and buy some commemorative t-shirts.
I decided to purchase a white ladies 2012 Team GB t-shirt and there were lots of different choices available for both men and women and to be honest as a girl I probably could have picked a men's t-shirt but I had seen quite a few women wearing this one already and decided to go for it.
My t-shirt is white and is made by Adidas so it's a tight fitting sports t-shirt rather than a baggy one. I like this look better as its quite a fitted t-shirt and looked really nice with jeans. The t-shirt is made of quite a stretchy fabric and definitely hugs my curves. It has nice short sleeves and a round crew neck so its quite flattering, even for a sports t-shirt. The shirt does come up get small. Mine is a UK 14 and in no way am I a size 14, I'm usually a 10 so I would say its a very tight fitting t-shirt.
The t-shirt is nicely designed and was perfect for showing our pride at being Team GB fans, i loved wearing this shirt and it really got me into the spirit of the games and i enjoyed banter with all the different fans, Team GB or otherwise.
The shirt features the red and blue Lion emblem, then has the words Team GB written on it. underneath there are the colourful Olympic rings and then London 2012 is written on the bottom of the t-shirt.
I think we paid somewhere in the £15-£20 region for this t-shirt and were probably quite ripped off as we were paying stadium prices and the fact that the games were being held hen. Now I think you can probably pick one up for a few pounds but it was nice to have it at a time that meant something.
It really felt great to be a part of it and be identified as a GB supporter with this t-shirt on. I have to say I haven't worn it since, maybe I will this summer when I'm running or playing sport but its a great souvenir to keep in my opinion and maybe I will wear it again to another Olympics in 20 years time when its retro and cool and hopefully I can still fit into it then!
I decided quite recently that it was about time that I bought some more gym clothes and while I was browsing the Sports Direct website I spotted this t shirt. It was really cheap which I assume is because they're trying to sell them all off now that the 2012 Olympics is done and dusted and I paid just £2.99 for it - the retail price is £15 which I wouldn't pay.
It was available in mens, children's and infants sizing and I got a men's one as I couldn't see any in the women's section. I'm a size twelve and decided to get it in a size medium, which is just the right size - nice and loose but not so loose that it is too baggy. The t shirt is available in two colours - grey or white and I have it in grey. It's a nice light marl shade of grey and it has a lions head on it which is red with a blue and red mane.
It then has 'team gb' written on it and the Olympics logo underneath, which is five rings which are all different colours. Although I do have this in a mans size it is very unisex and it doesn't look manly or anything at all. The t shirt fits well and is a couple of niches longer on me than most of my other t shirts are but I like this as it covers the tops of my thighs up a little bit.
It has got quite a high neck which is scooped but I like this because it means I don't have to keep re adjusting it while I'm running like I do with lower cut tops! The length of the sleeves is a little long and they come down to the crease of my arm where my elbow is which can get a bit annoying when I'm running as the sleeves are really loose so they flap around a bit but apart from this I like how it fits.
It is very comfortable and the material is soft and good quality. It is quite thick material and not the lightest t shirt I have so it probably won't be my t shirt of choice when the weather is warmer. It is made from 100% cotton and it washes well, I've washed mine about 3 times and the wording and pictures on it still look the same and there's no bobbling or anything. It does take a while to dry because the material is quite thick with that heavy sort of feeling to it but this doesn't bother me.
I wear mine with leggings or a pair of sweatpants for the gym and I also wear it around the house with a pair of pj bottoms/shorts or a pair of leggings when I am relaxing. I don't think it is stylish enough to wear in public though and I wouldn't wear it as a fashion t shirt as the Olympics were nearly a year ago but it would look nice with jeans or jeggings if I did want to wear it as a fashion top, but I think I'll stick to wearing it to the gym and as a pj top!
I definitely recommend this t shirt as its comfortable, good quality and it washes well. I am going to knock one star off though because at the full price of £15 it is quite expensive.
As I am extremely patriotic but couldnt get to the olympics in London, I still wanted to feel part of the whole experience so I decided to purchase one of these tops from a local sports shop so that I could wear it and be a part of the big party throughout the country.
I bought this T-shirt from Sports Direct in my town where I live, they had lots of stock for the London 2012 olympics so they had a lot to choose from, they had a very decent range of sizes aswell between XS to 4XL, as they do with lots of their products. I decided on this T-shirt because not only did it have a lion on the front it also has the olympic rings.
I bought this T-shirt at £6.99 as I wanted the mens one as it fits better, and Im quite glad I did as the womens sizes are £10.99, they also make these t-shirts for children for as little as £3.00. The make of these tops are very good although they do not cost much. The t-shirts are made from 100% cotton and are definitely machine washable, but because of the patterns on the fabric I always make sure that I turn my top inside out when washing and I never ever put it in the tumble dryer as the patterns may melt.
The t-shirt has a lions head on the front with a long maine, the head of the lion is coloured in different blocks of red and blue, with the white of the t-shirt inbetween, clearly there to resemble the great britain flag and the t-shirt also clearly states team GB in large navy writing, and the t-shirt finishes off by having the olympic rings at the bottom.
I have had this top since the olympics begun and it has lasted me until now with no problems, however the hem at the bottom of the t-shirt has started to fray slightly which is a bit of a shame as I love this top. Because of the short sleeves and the circular crew neck it makes for comfortable wear and does not make me feel like I am being strangled which I dont like with some collars on tops you can buy at the minute.
I would definitely recommend buying this top if you are still looking for some team GB memorabilia and I know that they are still available from some outlets and I can guess that they will more than definitely still be availiable on sportsdirect.com. £7 is not a bad price for any t-shirt these days so get online and get your memorabilia today!
I purchased a few items if London 2012 merchandise when the Olympics was on, such as key rings and top trumps! I noticed this when I was at sports direct! I purchased the grey version if this t shirt in a size medium. I wanted a t-shirt to wear when I was watching the games and also something to keep for after them as a memory. A t-shirt seemed a good idea as I could use it after the Olympics!
I paid £12.99 for this which I thought was a pretty decent price! It was purchased during the Olympics so it was at its most expensive! Now you an get these for around £5. I would say it is worth getting one as they are great to keep for memories because it was such a great Olympics for us Brits.
It is just a simple t-shirt with the logo of the Olympics printed on it and the words team GB! As I said earlier I picked up the grey shirt as I preferred the look to the white one. It was available in many sizes and is also available as a mens or women's t shirt! My girlfriend has the white t shirt like the picture above. I love the look of the Tshirt and it brings back so many happy memories from the Olympic Games. The back of the Tshirt is very plain with nothing on it. The label on the neck has the logo so you know it is official Olympic merchandise. I have worn this shirt many times and it is still in as good condition as it was web I got it. It is easy to wash and the logo and text on the front hasn't faded.
The Olympic Games may be over, but whilst you can still buy this t shirt in would advise you do. It's good quality and is designed very well. It looks stylish and brings back fond memories. They are brilliant value now. They may be simple but i still like it. I have worn it to the gym a few times too! Overall it's a decent product that I have seen many other people wearing this Tshirt too. It's still very popular and worth owning. Still available online! I am going to give this a 5 out of 5 rating. Thanks for reading my review on the Olympics team gb tshirt.

I couldn't get tickets to actually go and see the Olympics so plumped for the next best thing and bought a t-shirt, then sat in front of the TV and cheered like a madwoman. I bought this online, a size 12 (even though I am a size 10, I couldn't get a size 10 for love no money). I ordered it off Amazon for £9.99 + p&p and it did arrive within 3 days which was good. It came packaged well and neatly folded so no need to iron it.
There is a blue and red lion's face above the TEAM GB slogan above the iconic Olympic rings. I wore this T-shirt with pride, during both our Olympics and the Paralympics, I followed the washing instructions on the label of the t-shirt and it has come out in the same shape as it went it, but obviously cleaner. The cotton is comfortable and soft; I have ironed the t-shirt inside out as to protect the logos on the front and can report that it is still in good condition.
Although I wish I could have bought a size 10, the 12 is still a good shape and doesnt look hugely too big for me.
