~ Under Armour Junior Coldgear ~
My eldest son has been playing rugby now for around six years so as you can imagine in that time we have gone through a fair amount of kit for him.
When we pay his subs every season he gets his kit in with the price (so he should too!) but that is just shorts and top, and as rugby is a winter sport it is often very cold and wet when he trains and has matches. When he first started I simply bought him boots as we didn't know if he would like it or not but as it so happens he did very much enjoy it so that is when we looked into getting him all the extra bits he would need.
Included in these bits were top sleeved top to wear under his rugby shirt when playing. So I went to town and popped into the sports shop and found the Under Armour tops. I knew this is what he needed as I had already seen the other kids wearing them so of course, I bought him a top. At the time my son was aged 5yrs going on 6yrs so I bought the appropriate size for him which I think was YSM (Youth small). It looked very slim fitting but the length seemed right so I paid the £20 and took it home.
The Under Armour top although slim stretches brilliantly and when on performs a second skin if you like, that is why they are sometimes called Skins. It fits the body snugly and my son said it was nice to wear .... by this I guess he meant comfortable!
So, since then we have bought numerous Skins, some the Under Armour brand and others too, like the black and gold padded skin! Boys!!!
But I do think that the Under Armour tops have been of better quality than the others. They wear and wash brilliantly.
My son also had the Under Armour leggings and again they were the same brilliant quality.
The whole purpose of my son wearing these is to keep him warm whilst playing rugby and whilst waiting about for the game to start. They look like a lycra type material but the inside is actually soft and comfortable, they also dry very quickly too.
My sons rugby training starts at the end of the six weeks holidays and come the end of September he is ready to wear his Skins again, so in all he wears them three times a week, two training sessions and one match and I have to say the quality is amazing. I have yet to see one be ripped or snagged. Like I have already said they wear and wash brilliantly.
I am very impressed with these tops, the initial cost (I buy two) is £40 but this does last him the whole season and he will wear them on other occasions too, such as when he went on a camping trip with the school, he wore it at night too keep him warm, or even when he goes on bike rides with my dad.
Overall I think these are brilliant and I have had no problems what so ever with them in the six years I have been buying them.
They are available in sizes ranging from XS - XL and come in a few different colours.
Thanks for reading :) x
