I love swimming as well as being a good form or exercise it gives me a good sense of wellbeing in myself. I do have a very busy lifestyle between work, uni and my children but i always manage to fit in a swim every morning its part of my daily routine. My local swimming pool is only a ten minute walk from my house so its very covenant.
It is a must at our pool to wear a swimming cap in the water, male or female if your hair is below your ears lobes a cap is a must for pool hygiene. I do admit wearing a cap when my hair is so long and thick is a real nuisances.
I purchased the zoggs multi colour swimming cap from the pool for £4.99. Zoggs multi colour swimming caps can be bought from good sports shops, even some supermarkets stock them like tesco and sainsbury's for the same price.
The zoggs multi colour swimming cap comes in a one size fits all basis because the cap is made from silicone rubber and very stretchy it fits over all heads.
The caps come in different colours, i have the dark blue with a pink stripe on mine. The cap futures the zoggs logo on the front.
The zoggs multi colour swimming cap comes boxed, there are no instructions in the box but at least a picture diagram on the box itself showing how to out the cap on properly.
As i said my hair is a proper nightmare, very long and extremely thick so i have to tie my hair back and pin it up before attempting to put the cap on. Some people powder swimming caps before putting them on so they don't pull the hair but i have had no problems with the zoggs cap and have not had to do this.
I find it easier to put the cap on from the front stretching the cap over the back of my head and tucking in the loose ends of hair under the cap. It only takes me a few minutes to put the cap on.
After taking my swim when taking the cap of my hair is still dry witch is excellent and the whole point of the cap. The cap also protects my hair from the chlorine too. Chlorine over time can badly damage hair.
I have been using the zoggs multi coloured swimming cap for around five months now and its still going strong. I have noticed its faded slightly in colour no surprise as the chlorine does this but apart from that's its still in good nick and wont need replaced any time soon.
If you plan to take a swim i highly recommend buying a zoggs multi coloured swimming cap, cheap, strong , durable, fits all heads , shapes and sizes
Zoggs Multi Colour Silicone Swimming Cap
I used to go swimming every morning at least five times a week, I lived and worked only ten minutes away from a swimming pool so I never really had any excuse not to, particularly when I love to swim. I only ever tended to go on weekdays before work so I wanted my mornings to be as hassle free as possible and that meant showering, washing and drying my hair the night before so I generally had less to fit in, because of this I almost always used a swimming cap. They don't only mean that you have less time needed to get organised and out of the door after a swim, but that your hair isn't constantly exposed to harmful chlorine and other chemicals commonly found in swimming pools.
These swimming caps are a basic piece of sports equipment, however, as with most things you often find that some brands are better than others. These Zogg swimming caps have been consistently reliable, held their shape well and been relatively easy to put on even with longish shoulder length hair. Personally, I always put my swimming cap on front first then tuck the majority of hair in before doing a quick and final clean up of any remaining strands. These caps are tight fitting, as they should be and you would expect, but I have never thought of them as uncomfortable. I do often have a mark on my skin (a pressure indent) from wear the cap has been sitting, especially after wearing this for a longer session.
The swimming cap even after quite a lot of use has kept its shape and colour well, it probably does look more faded compared to what it was, but they still do work well. The swimming caps I own look slightly different from the picture above, as I don't own a multicoloured one rather I own a plain pink and a plain blue one.
I think I ended up owning quite a few of these Zogg and Speedo swimming caps because I went swimming so often and I liked a bit of variety and I found these to be a good choice for quality and comfort. I would love to say style because there are quite a few colours and variations to choose from but I don't think I could bring myself to say that any swimming cap could ever look stylish.
Swimming caps in general are not an expensive item and these were no exception. I believe I paid under £5 from a local sports direct store quite a while ago. Provided that you take a few moments to dry these and I usually give them a quick wash in the shower with me after use, these should last you for quite some time. I have replaced swimming caps in the past but more because I found a newer one that caught my attention rather than having any problems with the older ones.
I don't get the chance to go swimming as much as I used to because we moved home but when I do I still take along one of these swimming caps. Personally, I think that these are a swimming essential. These caps get a full five out of five star rating from me. If you are looking for a new swimming cap then these really are a nice, practical solution and if you go swimming without a swimming cap it might be worth giving one of these a go to give your hair a bit of a rest.
I enjoy swimming and often go with my nieces and nephews, now I have never been one for wearing a swimming hat, even when I was younger and went swimming at school, I always let me hair take its chances, I would never even tie it up as my wet hair would end up tangled and knotted around the hair band. However recently I had a slight disaster with hair dye (see previous reviews) and ended up dying my hair 3 times in one day, so with swimming just a few days later I was concerned about exposing my hair not only to the various dyes but also combining this with the chlorine in the pool water, could result in a total disaster. I didn't want to cancel the swimming so with a few days to spare I decided to go for it, risk looking silly and buy myself a swimming cap, not the most stylish item but was the perfect thing to keep my hair safe from the chlorine water.
I decided on the Zoggs Multi Colour Silicone Swim Cap, to be honest it didn't really matter what make it was, nothing was going to look good it was more for practical reasons, but the Zoggs cap was ideal, not too expensive!!!! I ordered my Zoggs Swimming cap online at Amazon and it only cost me £4.99, a bargain as some swimming caps I came across were a lot more expensive, I was also pleased as the cap arrived within a couple of days of ordering it and in plenty of time for me to go swimming.
The cap is made from silicon, it was quite brightly coloured in marbled pink and blue with the word Zogg written in small white letters on the side of the cap, again it wasn't going to look brilliant on me so I thought I would go for pretty colours. The material felt strong but I do have rather a lot of hair and was a bit concerned about how I was actually going to fit all of my hair under the cap without splitting it, but I had nothing to worry about. The cap itself was shaped slightly, this allowed it to fit perfectly moulding to the shape of your head whilst being comfortable at the same time, the embossed inside of the cap is designed to prevent it from slipping. I found tying my hair up in a thin band helped to keep my layers together allowing me to fold it up and easily pull the cap over the top, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy I managed to get the cap on, I got the main part of my hair up in one go and just needed to tuck a few side bits up afterwards, but once held securely inside the cap no further hair escaped the whole time I was swimming, it was kept dry and chlorine free. At no point did I feel the cap slipping as I moved around in the water and it also felt very comfortable, I did wonder weather the tight silicone would press into the sides of my head but I could hardly feel that I was wearing it.
The cap proved to be very hardwearing and durable, it did not split as I stretched it over my head and remained in shape after wearing it. When I removed the cap it had not stretched at all and was still in perfect shape, I have worn the cap a few times now and it still looks as good as new and is in perfect condition, it is showing no signs of wearing. One cap pretty much fits most adult sizes, the silicon that the cap is made from will easily stretch to accommodate most head sizes and hair length and thickness, I have quite long and thick hair and the cap accommodated this perfectly and still felt very comfortable.
Overall i was very impressed with the Zogg swimming cap, after using it my hair was perfectly dry and had been protected from the effects of the chlorine meaning no reaction between the hair dye and the chlorine. I would definitely recommend the Zogg swimming cap especially for those who enjoy swimming but also colour their hair, the cap keeps it totally dry and safe from the chlorine. For me this was the perfect solution allowing me continue to go swimming after dying my hair, usually I would avoid swimming so close to dying my hair through fear of it turning green or some other dodgy colour, but now I can happily dye my hair as well as swim.
Whilst swim caps may not look very fetching to some peoples eyes, they do perform well for the dedicated swimmer and the occasional swimmer alike. We bought a Zoggs Silicone Swim Cap for a very impressive £3.20 from a sports retailer and have found it to be reliable and comfortable when in use.
The idea of using a swim cap didn't go down too well with our child when they first realized it was on the list of sports related equipment they needed, but it didn't take long for the swim cap to just become part and parcel of the swimming gear needed for lessons.
We picked the Zoggs swim cap as we could see it came in a variety of funky colours and also came recommended by the sales assistant. The range included a variety of colour combinations which ranged from mostly pink with mixed yellow highlights, to mostly blue with a turquoise highlight, there were at least 4 varieties for us to choose from in all. There were also swim caps by the same maker in a plain shade but these were less attractive and also more expensive to buy at around £6.50.
The design of the multi coloured swim cap is simple and effective. You can pick a colour palette to suit your tastes and all have a distinctive semi blended in flash of colour across the cap which make it stand out well. The Zoggs brand name is also clearly showing in funky text on the swim cap.
I feel that the multi colour design makes the cap look modern and fresh, without being too busy. These multi colour caps suited our needs, but some may want to go for the plainer mono tone swim caps in the range, for a more understated look, or because the school or swim club specify a certain coloured cap.
The material used for the swim cap is a very durable and flexible silicone. It has kept its flexible ability even though it has been used and pulled on and of many times. Although is a basic sort of swim cap that is more suited to the non competitive swimmer, I don't feel its lacking in quality at all.
It is a one size fits all model and that does lose the swim cap 1 star as it would have been nice to have had a selection of sizes for a slightly more snug and comfy fit. The slightly embossed interior was a good feature as it gave a good no slip surface to the cap. Our child has found the cap easy to put on and off and whilst it doesn't keep the hair 100% dry thats not really the object of wearing the swim cap during swimming lessons.
The cap could be said to afford a certain streamlining quality to the wearer but I don't feel thats of much benefit over all to an amateur swimmer. The cap does keep both older boys and girls hair out of the way of their face when swimming and also fits adults too. The cap does seem to be able to enclose short hair very well, but having not tried it with longer hair I don't feel able to make a secure judgement on that, other than to say it looks and feels like it would do a good job.
The cap does stretch enough to make putting it on not too much of a struggle. The technique required does need a bit of practice and should be tried a few times before use if at all possible. The fit seems reasonable and also comfortable and the shape is one that works well enough.
Over all the product has been a reliable one that we would buy again if needed. It didn't cost the earth to buy and does a reasonable job of keeping the hair out of the way when needed. This allows for the swimmer to concentrate more on the activity than they can without a swimming cap. It may not glamorous but it can be effective. The Zogg swim cap gets a 4 star rate.
