Asda Smartprice Plastic Sports Bottle
by user789 I bought this bottle from asda as I needed a small and handy bottle for use when exercising in the and outdoors and since the price was perfectly suitable to what I was hoping for I did not find a reason that would stop me from buying this bottle. These bottles come in light blue and pink at a price of £1.30, so price wise ... this bottle is probably around the cheapest you could get. I really like the design behind this bottle as it is made to be convenient for everyday purposes as the bottle is easy to open and close, the liquid comes out easily and it is easy to clean thanks to the really wide diameter of the lid. I have found the plastic of this bottle really good against wear however the piece of plastic connecting the lid with the bottle seems to be slightly fragile comparing to slightly more expensive bottles on sale in stores such as sports direct and JJB. When it comes to using the bottle it is made with the usual "fruit shoot style" lid and a slightly soft body so squeezing the bottle will squirt out a generous amount of water. The strip of plastic that helps to keep the lid with the bottle is also very effective. 10/10 for ease of use. I would recommend this bottle to anyone looking for a simple but effective bottle for everyday activities such as sports or exploring the out doors. A cheap bottle with generous features. Asda Smartprice Plastic Sports Bottle
by sympatic I tend to go through water bottles at quite a rate mainly because I have a habit of leaving them behind in the gym or when out camping so I'm always on the look out for cheap options and this particular water bottle only cost £1.20 so it was a real bargain, it was available in two colours, blue and pink so I opted for the pink colour. It ... does have a couple of drawbacks in the way that it is made but I can accept these given the low price, as you cannot expect something to be perfect when it is sold so cheap. This bottle is a little on the bulky side which does not make it the easiest to grip, there are some grooves on the side to help you grip the bottle but I find that if I'm doing a heavy workout and sweating a lot then the smooth plastic is not the best for getting a good secure grip on. It has a standard sportts cap from which a steady flow of water is dispensed without the need to suck really hard, just a tipping motion is all that is needed. It locks back into place securely enough and there is a nozzle protector as well to prevent and spillage of the water when not in use. The top of the bottle unscrews to allow the bottle to be filled. This is the other area where I noticed the cheapness of the bottle as there is not much thread and it is a bit of a pain to get the top back on, it could just be in the build quality of the one I have with the threads slightly out of line but again it is something that is not that big a problem given the low price of the bottle. It is easy to clean as you just remove the top and wash thoroughly and it is reasonably robust given that it is made from plastic however it does not look like it would handle many knocks and the like. Given the price this is a good purchase and a product that only has a couple of design niggles. Read the complete review |

Asda Smartprice Plastic Sports Bottle
by MsTricia At the moment I am still on a quest for saving money on the little things, so I have more to spend on the big things. For example, just yesterday I took my daughter and niece to go see Dora the Explorer at the theatre (a really vibrant show I'd definitely recommend anyone with kids under 10 to take them!) and I just knew buying drinks ... and snacks there etc was going to cost me an arm and a leg. So recently when I was in Asda I bought this sports bottle as I figured I could bring drink from home (seeing as I usually have diluted which makes far more drinks in the long run!) and I could carry this to work and on days out such as yesterday. The Asda smart price sports bottle is made from quite strong and durable blue plastic and has a removable lid that has a clip which still stays attached to the bottle so never gets lost. This is ideal for me as the amount of bottles I have purchased in the past and somehow I can either find the top and not the bottle or vice versa! So with this, there is little chance of it happening! It has a great capacity at 750ml which holds enough juice (I really wish I could drink more water!) which doesn't quite last me all day but holds me until I am back home as I drink like a fish! The bottle is rigid to a degree in that it doesn't get squished easily as I had loads in my bag like crisps and sweets and also cartons of ribena for the little ones and this bottle held its own! However it is flexible enough that when I am drinking it can be gently squeezed and does slightly change shape to extract the juice when drinking. Fortunately, this has a secure screw top lid which is removed to pour the drink/water in as long as its on properly (which I constantly made sure of by tipping the bottle upside down to check for any drops leaking!) there are absolutely no spillages and my bag and its contents stayed nice and dry! Hoorah! To drink from it is easy and simple like many other sports bottles it has a type of spout on top, similar to the one on a Robinson's fruit shoot bottle as the best way I can describe it lol. Pull upwards with your teeth to open it and tilt head back and sip, and then use your mouth to push it back down and close it again. The additional cap is for security and I like the added protection to get in and out of the bottle. It is easy to clean, and whilst I do not have a dishwasher to say whether it is suitable I have had no problems in cleaning it with some hot water and fairy washing up liquid! Overall, I think I grabbed the bottle for about £1.30 as it was the last I saw on the shelf and I thought it was pretty good for the price. I would definitely recommend it as it is easy to use, secure and I know it will save me lots of money in the long run on buying drinks when I am out and about or even at work when I am thirsty!
