LP Extreme Ankle Support
by paulm99 ~Size Guide~ (lp-supports.com) Measure circumference just above the ankle bone. 6-8" Small 8-10" Medium 10-12" Large 12-14" X-Large ~Review~ I bought this ankle support when I twisted my ankle playing rugby. Once it started healing I wanted something to give ... me a bit more confidence when I started going out running and playing rugby again. As with all supports you need to make sure you buy the right size. I didn't measure my ankle before I bought this but I was lucky that I got the right size. I would definitely recommend measuring your ankle before you buy one of these supports. The support pulls on like a sock and then there is a Velcro strap to secure it in position. This can be quite tight to put on and if your ankle is still sore or healing be careful as you can cause yourself a bit of pain when putting it on. It is not too thick so fits nicely under your sock and then in your shoe. The support is made from a material called Coolprene. This is meant to dissipate heat when you are wearing it to reduce sweating and heat discomfort, especially during prolonged use. On hot days it still did get very sweaty but I didn't really notice it until I took the support off so I guess this material works! I found that this ankle support gave me a lot more confidence once I got back into my fitness. It sits snugly around your ankle and you can wear it for a long time without it becoming uncomfortable. LP Extreme Ankle Support
by QuinDogg As I suffer of a really annoying hyper-mobility syndrome which gets me in pain when I walk long distances, I had to look for a good support which would aid me to feel more steady when I walk or jog. The Price of around 10 pounds is not expensive at all if you take into account the benefits you will get from it. The support feels really ... tight but somehow well designed to not stop the circulation to your toes which is a frequent issue with this type of products. The material is really good and you will barely feel that you are wearing it on top of your socks. I really like the style which is high enough to hold your foot firmly but not really high to make you look like a severely disabled person. For all this, I think that the LP are a good choice if you need a good support for your feet. Even if you twisted your ankle, since this support is very gentle with all the ligaments and bones in your foot, but with its steadiness you will feel how it quickly heals and the pain stops. LP Extreme Ankle Support
by Whizz11 Years ago I sprained my ankle whilst playing netball and its amazing just what damage it did. Straight afterwards I couldn't walk on it for a couple of days and then when I did I could not wear heels for a long time. I was young back then and didn't really have money for physio but I wish I had of done it because now, about 10 years ... later I still get pain in that ankle if I drive for a long time and hold my ankle in a particular position for a long time or if I walk on it for a long time. Playing sports on it too can be a bit painful after a while so to help combat this I have a ankle support that really does wonders for my ankle whilst I am playing sport. The ankle support is easy to put on. Its sort of a bit like a sock although it is open at the toe and also the heel. I think they make it like this so one size fits all as you can tailor it to fit your foot. The support slips on like you would put a sock on and then there is a velcro fastening that you pull and fasten over on the other side. You can pull this quite tight which is nice as I like to make it as tight as possible without disabling my foot so my ankle is really held in place and doesn't move around much when I am jumping or running. Being open at the toe and ankle enables you to sort of move it around and wiggle your foot to get the best possible fit. I find this ankle support really quite comfortable. It is somewhat padded so it offers a bit of cushioning as well which is nice and I think the cushioning stops it from rubbing on the places where it is open, i.e. the toe and the ankle. The support is made of a breathable COOLPRENE covered with a COOLMAX lining to keep the skin dry and comfortable at all levels of physical activity and I have to say that this works as my foot is never overly hot or sweaty after I have been wearing this. The only little problem I have with it is that it makes my foot a bit bigger than the other one so when you put on your trainers to play sport the trainer on my right foot is quite tight as it has to house this ankle support too and so its a little bit uncomfortable to begin with but once you start playing for a bit this gets better but you would have to be careful if your trainers are tight anyway that this support would actually fit in your shoe. You can pick these up from places like Boots or speciality sports shops and for someone who has suffered from an ankle injury in the past they are a great help. Read the complete review |
